The most iconic couple in sci-fi history, Han Solo was the dashing, rugged, handsome smuggler while Leia Organa was the graceful, diplomatic, rebel princess. Sparks flew the minute they met, but it wasn't until Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back that their romantic relationship developed.In the expanded Star Wars universe, Han and Leia eventually married and had three children: twins Jaina and Jacen, and youngest son Anakin. But they never stopped fighting for justice and peace, often risking their lives on dangerous missions as well as diplomatic ones.

There's many ways you can choose to play up Han and Leia as a couple. You might chose the witty smuggler rescuing the sarcastic spitfire princess. You might choose to go with their romantic sides, as portrayed in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Sibling Rivalry?
Luke Skywalker & Princess Leia
The twins of Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala were separated at birth, for their own protection, and hidden on opposite sides of the galaxy. Luke would grow up and long to leave Tatooine, while Leia grew up among royalty, becoming a senator at 16 as well as joining the Rebel Alliance. Their worlds would collide when Luke, along with Han Solo and Chewbacca, would rescue Leia from death aboard the Death Star.It would not be until several years later that they would learn of their lineage and the fact they were twins. Although Leia would eventually marry Han, there were a few instances (and kisses) that she would favor Luke to make Han jealous.

There's always two ways to go with this costume; chaste, innocent siblings or not-so-innocent siblings. The "forbidden love" between Luke and Leia has always been a hotly discussed topic in the Star Wars fandom. Just remember, at first Luke is a wide-eyed farm boy from the desolate planet of Tatooine, thrust into the spotlight after a heroic victory. Leia is the cool and collected Senator, the regal princess who has witnessed the destruction of her home planet. Take it where you will!

Jabba the Hutt and Princess Leia
For the couple who wants to go all out (and might be a little twisted) there's always the infamous pairing of Princess Leia as Jabba the Hutt's slave!In Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Princess Leia goes undercover as bounty hunter Boushh to rescue Han Solo from being the prized possession of Jabba the Hutt. Her plan almost succeeds; she manages to free Han from the carbonite prison, but is captured in the process. Jabba's affinity for human woman keeps her alive, as his slave.
In the Star Wars fandom, Leia's slave girl attire has always been talked about and recognized as one of the iconic moments in these iconic films. It's cemented in pop culture, the fantasy of many young men.

If you choose these costumes...
Take a cue from the films. Leia is kept in chains, tugged around by Jabba. But she never gives into his advances, eventually strangling him, using the chains of captivity. Jabba speaks only Huttese, but laughs a lot in a big, booming voice. Leia is sensual but a rebel princess through and through. Play it up!

Forbidden Love
Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala
When the prequel trilogy was released, we learned the sad tale of Luke and Leia's parents, Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala. Brought together while Anakin was a slave and Padme was queen of Naboo, the two gradually fell in love. While guarding Padme while in hiding on Naboo, the two married, which was forbidden by the Jedi Order.Keeping their love, as well as their marriage, as secret from the Jedi council, proved difficult. Eventually Padme would confide in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but Anakin was already on his descent towards the Dark Side of the Force. In a moment of rage, Anakin would Force-choke Padme, but did not kill her. She would later die of a broken heart after giving birth to Anakin's twins, Luke and Leia.
