What Are Mighty Beanz?
New to the World of Star Wars Mighty Beanz? Check in here!
Mighty Beanz are a simple, yet fun, marble like toy. Each is a plastic capsule, or bean, shaped cylinder with a free moving metal ball inside. This allows the toys to wobble and flip when tilted. When released at the top of an incline, Mighty Beans can actually be made to walk by causing them to flip end over end.
The zany motion is just the beginning of the fun! Mighty Beans are also highly collectible. Each Mighty Bean is actually a cute little character. Often these characters are made to resemble famous celebrities or other popular characters, such as super heroes or as we already know, our favorite Star Wars characters!

Trading and collecting Star Wars Mighty Beans with your friends is probably just as fun as playing with them. With over 75 Star Wars characters available, completing your Star Wars Mighty Beanz collection is going to be fun and challenging!
There are many games that you can play with your new Star Wars Mighty Beans. Get the flip track and have fun walking and sliding your favorite Star Wars characters across the track. Use your imagination and create your own games to play with your Star Wars Mighty Beanz.
How Many Star Wars Mighty Beans Characters are in the Complete Set?
How Many Star Wars Mighty Beans are There?
60? Over 75? 80+?
How many Star Wars Mighty Beanz are out there?
The short answer to this question is as of right now, nobody knows! As of the date of this writing there is some confusion surrounding just how many Star Wars Mighty Beanz exist. The original TV commercial refers to "over 75" Star Wars characters. Some packaging I have seen in the stores refers to "over 40" beanz, and then the Darth Vader collector storage tin sold in retail stores excitedly tells you to collect "all 60" Star Wars Mighty Beanz. Open that same tin up and you'll see it includes Star Wars Mighty Beans #80 and #81???
Judging from the Mighty Beanz website it appears that there are actually 60 Series 1 Star Wars Mighty Beanz. Series 1 Star Wars Mighty Beanz would be the ones you'd purchase in the 4 pack Mighty Beanz packs only. Obviously there is much more to the Star Wars Mighty Beanz lineup than just Series 1.
The 5 special Droid Star Wars Mighty Beanz available only with the order special advertised on TV, are actually beanz #82-86! But hang on! There's more! Two more exclusive Mighty Beanz are #87 and #88 which are Han Solo and Chewbacca included with a special Millennium Falcon case available only at Toys R Us.
As of December, 2010 we now know there are at least 89 Star Wars Mighty Beanz. Star Wars Mighty Bean #89 has been confirmed. #89 is Darth Sidious and its an exclusive bean available only with the new Darth Vader lightsaber flip track.
Right now we still don't know exactly how many total beans there are to collect, but it's safe to say at least 89! 100 seems like a nice and logical round number, but that's purely speculation on my part.

Store Exclusives
Store Exclusive Star Wars Mighty Beanz
One of the interesting parts of collecting Star Wars Mighty Beanz are the store exclusives that are offered. These are products only available in certain stores. Obtaining these exclusive products makes completing your entire collection more challenging, and more fun! Check out some of the known store exclusive products listed below.
Keep in mind while these are "store exclusives" that doesn't mean you can't find someone selling them on ebay, Amazon or other places on the web.
Death Star Star Wars Mighty Beanz Collector's Case
A Toys 'R Us Exclusive
My new favorite Star Wars Mighty Beanz store exclusive is the Death Star Star Wars Mighty Beanz collector tin. Released around March of 2011, this tin sphere is painted to look just like the Death Star. Separate the two halves to open it up and the Death Star collector's case has 4 trays inside that can store over 30 of your Favorite Star Wars Mighty Beanz.
The Death Star collector's case even comes with two exclusive Star Wars Mighty Beanz: Imperial Gunner #92 & Grand Moff Tarkin #93.

Millennium Falcon with 2 Exclusive Star Wars Mighty Beanz
A Toys R Us Exclusive

One of the coolest store exclusives is the Millennium Falcon collector's tin. This collector's case is styled to look just like the Millenium Falcon and can hold over 30 of your favorite Star Wars Mighty Beanz! The best part is this tin comes with 2 exclusive Star Wars Beanz that are only available with this tin: Han Solo #87 and Chewbacca #88

Clone Wars Mighty Beanz
A Walmart Exclusive!
Longing for some Clone Wars Mighty Beanz? You'll need to head to Walmart!
As we've stated above, the Star Wars Mighty Beanz are packed in a sort of blind packaging arrangement. Each pack includes 4 Star Wars character beanz with one visible and three packaged out of site.
Walmart reportedly offers exclusive Clone Wars beanz packages that replaces one of the normal beanz in a package with an exclusive Clone Wars bean! Sources state that the Clone Wars characters are beanz numbers 61-79.
5 Exclusive Star Wars Droid Mighty Beanz!
Available via the TV Mail In Offer
If you've seen the TV commercial you'll likely know you can get 5 Exclusive Droid Star Wars Mighty Beanz available only by purchasing the set offered on TV. These 5 exclusive beans are:
#82 R2-Q5
#83 K-3PO
#84 R5-D4
#85 R4-P44
#86 Pit Droid
You can get this kit which includes a Darth Vader collector's tin case, the 5 exclusive droid beanz listed above, two "rare" Star Wars Mighty Beanz, and the flip track with a non Star Wars bean, for the low price of $24.95 plus shipping and handling. For ordering information, CLICK HERE or call 866 967-2607.
Update: (December 2010) I've been hearing reports that the TV offer offering the Darth Vader collector's tin case and 5 exclusive droid Mighty Beanz is no longer available. When I check the online order form it is still up but the submit button has been disabled. Of course this has made them even more rare and hard to obtain. Unfortunately this also means they are getting more expensive to add to your collection.
These can be hunted down on sites like ebay but sellers typically demand a high price for these rare exclusive Star Wars Mighty Beanz. You can typically expect to pay as much as $200 to $400 for the complete set of 5 droid beans! OUCH!
Rare Star Wars Might Beanz Droid Beans #82-86 on Ebay
These were available via the TV offer and are very hard to find. Ebay is often a good source to find these..but the entire set of 5 beans sometimes commands hundreds of dollars!
About Mighty Beanz Packaging
Random and Blind Packaging? Not so fast!

Star Wars Mighty Beanz generally come in a 4 pack with blind packaging. One bean will be visible and the other 3 are not.
At first most collectors, including myself, thought this packaging was random. It is now believed that you can actually tell what the remaining 3 unseen beans are in any given package from the bean that is visible*. Consult the charts below for specific product pairings.
As was suspected, the Star Wars Mighty Beanz are being released in different stages, or "waves".
Wave 1:
Visible Bean: Remaining Star Wars Mighty Beanz in package
Battle Droid: Anakin Skywalker (young), Jar Jar Binks, Yoda
501st Legion: Luke Skywalker, Rancor, General Grievous
Clone Trooper: Han Solo, General Grievous , Slave Leia
Greedo: Kit Fisto, Max Rebo, Sandtrooper
Jabba: Count Dooku, Emperor, Obi-Wan Kenobi (old)
Leia: Anakin Skywalker, Boba Fett, Tie Fighter Pilot
Luke: Jawa, Padme, AT-AT Driver
Yoda: Ackbar, Chewbacca, IG-88
R2-D2: Bossk, Stormtrooper, Darth Vader
I haven't verified all of these listed above but I'm pretty confident they are correct since all of the packages I've purchased for my son have seemed to follow the patterns listed above.
The Clone Wars packages available only at WalMart include a slightly different arrangement and feature one exclusive Clone Wars bean in the hidden beans. The good news is Clone Wars WalMart exclusives seem to follow a very similar pattern listed above, but they substitute the last bean with a Clone Wars Mighty Bean. Here is a breakdown of the WalMart Exclusive Clone Wars Mighty Beanz.
Visible Bean: Remaining Beans in Package, Clone Wars Bean included in package
501st Legion: Luke Skywalker, Rancor, Obi-Wan (Clone Wars)
Battle Droid: Anakin Skywalker (young), Jar Jar Binks, Asajj Ventress
Darth Vader: 2-1B, Tusken Raider, Captain Rex
Greedo: Kit Fisto, Max Rebo, Anakin (Clone Wars)
Han Solo: Jango Fett, Snowtrooper, Cad Bane
Luke: Jawa, Padme, Cad Bane (Clone Wars)
Obi-Wan Kenobi (old): Chewbacca, Darth Maul, Plo Koon
R2-D2: Bossk, Stormtrooper, Anakin (Clone Wars)
*Although I'd love to be able to take credit for figuring all of this out, I can't! I always suspected there was some sort of pattern to how these things were packaged, I simply haven't spent the time, effort, and money to crack the code. Most of this has to be credited to the folks at StarWarsGuide.net.
WAVE 2
Wave 2:
The second wave of Star Wars Mighty Beanz appears to have hit store shelves in early December, 2010. Once again it seems fans in the Midwest U.S. won't see these in stores as soon as other markets.
Consult the chart below to determine the packaging patter for the second wave of Star Wars Mighty Beanz.
Visible Bean: Remaining Star Wars Mighty Beanz in package
Admiral Ackbar: Cantina Musician, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Snowtrooper
Wicket: Darth Vader, Sandtrooper, Sebulba
Chewbacca: Clone Trooper, Bossk, Ki-Adi-Mundi
Tusken Raider: Princess Leia, Tie Pilot, Qui-Gon Jinn
Anakin Skywalker: R2-D2, Luke Rebel Pilot, Salacious Crumb
C-3PO: 501st Legion, Biggs Darklighter, Greedo)
Count Dooku: Padme Amidala, Wicket, Yoda
Mace Windu: Anakin Skywalker, Gamorrean Guard, Jawa
Gamorrean Guard: Bib Fortuna, Luke Skywalker, Queen Amidala
Stormtrooper: Jabba the Hutt, AT-AT Driver, Han Solo
Commander Cody: Boba Fett, C-3PO, Ponda Baba
General Grievous: Han Solo, Battle Droid, IG-88

Which Star Wars Mighty Beanz are the Rarest?
Which Beans are the Rarest and Hardest to Find?
Common vs. Rare vs. "Ultra Rare"
Some of the Stars Mighty Beanz are easy to find and others are much more challenging. With the basic core edition of Star Wars Mighty Beanz Series 1 (#1-60), rarity seems to be related to bean number. It seems the first thirty beanz are fairly common and quite easy to find. Beanz numbered 31 - 50 are considered to be "Rare". Some of the most challenging beanz to add to your collection are going to the beanz #51-60 which are designated as "Ultra Rare"! Consult the charts below for easy reference.
Keep in mind this breakdown only applies to the core edition/Series 1 which is simply beanz #1-60 available in the normal packaging. Exclusive beanz such as the 5 exclusive Droid Mighty Beanz available in the TV offer, the Chewbacca and Han Solo included with the Toys R Us Exclusive Millennium Falcon case, and the Walmart Exclusive Clone Wars beanz are likely quite rare as well.

I believe the Mighty Beanz toys are no longer sold in stores anymore in North America , and would have to be purchased online now.

- Hi just letting you know that the rare beans that came with that offer has the same numbers as one that I have just brought. #82 Super battle Droid, #83 R4-P17, #84 Commander Gree, #85 Commander Bly #86 Kashyyk Trooper. So I don't know what this means but I'm from Australia. But I would like to get my hands on them beans any way

- Thanks for pointing that out Mark! You are absolutely correct. There are TWO different sets of Star Wars Mighty Beanz numbered 82-86.
What happened was Series 2 of the Star Wars Mighty Beanz was released containing beans also numbered 82,83,84,85,86.
MANY collectors were unable to get the mail in exclusive droid beanz (the ORIGINAL beanz number 82-86). Many casual collectors were even unaware of the exclusive Star Wars Mighty Beanz available in the mail in offer.
There were perceived holes for beanz numbered 82-86, especially for the casual collector. Series 2 of The Star Wars Mighty Beanz collection contains beans also numbered 82-86. (The ones you mentioned above).
I'm guessing they released a second set of beans numbered 82-86 to avoid any confusion with casual collectors that may have had holes in their collection for those numbers. Instead it makes it a little more confusing for the hardcore Star Wars collector who now has two different sets of beanz numbered 82-86.
The Droid Star Wars Mighty Beanz available exclusively through the mail in offer are pretty rare and still in high demand. Ebay is still a great source to find them, but plan on paying plenty to add them to your collection. As of January 2012 the subset of those droids were commanding prices of up to several hundred dollars USD!

- Great to hear Mike. It's so great to hear kids enjoying the simple toys that don't require an internet connection, 6 batteries and a hundred dollars worth of accessories!
My son is more about collecting the mighty beans than actually playing with them now that he's getting a little older

- This off the star wars topic but more on mighty beans. I bought my daughter a couple of packs of mighty beans. She absolutely loves them. So simple but fun. I had to comment when I seen your lens on the beans... thanks
