The Original Star Wars Monopoly

Star Wars original trilogy edition monopoly is one of the hundreds of monopoly editions out there.
And it is not the only one.

There are so many variations of the star wars monopoly you have to wonder if it shouldn't already have a status as a game of its own.

Here I decided to present to you the Star Wars original trilogy edition because let's face it, Everyone older than 18 years probably
likes and remembers the original trilogy much more than the movies released after the nineties.

Amazon review:

Go directly to jail in a galaxy far, far away. Boardwalk and Marvin Gardens are light-years away -- now you're playing Monopoly in the Star Wars Universe. This Monopoly edition combines the classic gameplay of the world's most popular board game with your favorite characters, vehicles, locations and movie scenes from the Star Wars movies in the original trilogy. Includes: Galactic game board with properties and scenes from the trilogy; 8 new pewter tokens of Star Wars characters; Rebel and Imperial Cards that might reward you, penalize you or send you to Tatooine; and Miniature X-wing fighters, Corellian freighters, TIE fighters and Star Destroyers to claim your "cities" and "space ports." So, hop into your starfighter...and travel through hyperspace to your destiny. For 2 to 8 players.

A Brief Description

Star wars themed monopolyThis version of monopoly is probably the first themed monopoly edition I ever discovered and I was hooked as soon as I saw it. I even took the time to search for the demo PC version of this game, because I couldn't convince my parents to buy me the board edition, and as soon as I got it I played for hours and hours.

This Original Trilogy Edition combines the classic gameplay of the world's most popular board game with your favorite characters,
vehicles locations and scenes from the original trilogy movies.

Included in this editiojn are 8 unique star wars tokens:

  • Darth Vader,

  • R2-D2,

  • Grand Moff Tarkin,

  • Lando Calrissian,

  • TIE Fighter Pilot,

  • Tusken Raider,

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi,

  • Luke Skywalker

Of course it also includes a galactic game board with properties and scenes from the trilogy. The Star Wars Original Trilogy Monopoly edition includes everything a Star Wars fan would want in a board game.

Star Wars Monopoly Video Game

As I mentioned earlier, the Star Wars Monopoly game also got its own video game version.
The most entertaining feature of the game is the voice work of Anthony Daniels, who gives life to an animated C-3PO.
It actually is a nice video game, but it's really made for only 1 player. You can play with more players, but if you want to play star wars monopoly with your family, it's best you get the original.

There are more Star Wars monopoly editions out there, each is unique in its own way. Still I think the Star Wars monopoly original trilogy edition is the way to go if you want to buy a Star Wars Monopoly.

Customer review:

Physically, this has got to be the best version of Monopoly available. Each title/deed card is placed in a slot on the actual game board. This makes is very easy to see which properties have been purchased. It also makes it very easy to find the title/deed card when you purchase a property. Like Monopoly 2000, the apartments stack on top of each other. Episode I Monopoly goes a step further and actually has holes where the apartments and hotels secure themselves to the board.
The biggest disadvantage that we found were the names of the properties. On occasion, we would get confused as to which properties we landed on, etc.

If you are a Star Wars fan, this is a must-have game. If you are not a Star Wars fan, the physical features of the game alone make it a valuable upgrade from other versions of Monopoly, including Monopoly 2000.

Customer review:

We all grew up with Monopoly, but times have changed and kids like to look for characters the recognize now.

Monopoly Clone Wars provides the same basic game, but with new figures (Clone Commander Rex, Asajj Ventress, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, General Grievous, and Ahsoka Tano) 28 new properties, also Sith and Ransom spaces instead of community chest and chance. There are some optional Star Wars rules included, but we haven't had a chance to try out yet. Overall it's been a fun game.

If you're looking for a gift for the Star Wars fan or Monopoly collector in your life maybe this is it.
