Starcraft 2 Noob

This is going to be fun, I'm going to tell you the typical things a Starcraft 2 noob thinks, and why they are wrong.

• The typical Starcraft 2 noob thinks that you don't need to scout in the beginning. This is crazy false, every player needs to scout in the beginning. It gives you information about the opponent, very valuable information.



• The typical Starcraft 2 noob thinks he doesn't need to help his allies right away. You should always help your allies as much as you can, in anyway possible and as soon as possible.



• The typical Starcraft 2 noob thinks he can pick his strategy before the game starts. Your only strategy needs to be countering your opponent(s).

I think it is most important for noobs to play a lot of games. To learn which units counter which other units. To learn to scout efficiently. Then learn late game base management, and efficient ways to grow expansions.

Learn some strategies that have 'cheese' value, and give you a chance at an easy win.

Watch replays by some great players, watch commentated replays (you can get some awesome ones in that link I recommend).

A noob needs a guide to Starcraft 2, hence the Starcraft 2 noob guide. I'm going to sum up Starcraft 2 for you in as few words as possible.

In the online portion of Starcraft 2, you are playing human opponents. You may or may not have an ally, it is up to you.

Now since this is the noob guide, you'll have to pick a race. Terran, Zerg, or Protoss, every other human will have picked a race as well. Yes you can pick the same race as other players, duh.

Now you use your race and harvest minerals with your workers, and build your base bigger. You then build an army and fight, trying to wipe the opponents off your map.
