What To Notice About Starcraft 2 Replays
Most Starcraft 2 strategy guides come with the best replays you can imagine!
This isn't an instruction of how to watch them mechanically, but how to watch them mentally!
The way to get the most out of the replay, is to try and put yourself into the mind of the player you like.
P.S. - This is purely my opinion, has not been tested nor proven.
Anyways, I like to turn fog on for that player, and try to figure out the "WHY" as he makes his moves. Why is he doing this? What is the purpose? How did this help him to win?
Every once in a while I like to pause it, and check on the opponent. Is the player I'm watching doing well now that I can see both players? If so, try and figure out ho he knew what to do.
For instance, how does one player know that he doesn't need to built anti air units before hes fully scouted his opponent? Questions like this make a good player!
You may want a massive collection of the best commentated games, because it will save you so much time finding them yourself. You can be using all that time to get better at playing the game! If you want to take a look at the online Starcraft 2 strategy guides, they really can help organize the replays and put them in one place for you!

Watching Your Own Starcraft 2 Replays
Pay attention to this
Which replays of yours are the most important to watch?
That's right, the replays where you lose!
Go back, and watch the replays you lose very closely! Find out why you lost!
Here are a few questions that might help you get to your answer:
1) Were you building the right units?
2) Were you building enough units?
3) Were you fighting at the right times?
4) Did you give the opponent any opportunities?
5) Did the opponent give you any opportunities?
I heard once, be mindful of your strengths and weaknesses, and your opponents. This way you can be sure to make the right decisions!
