STARCRAFT 2 REVIEW
some basic info, Starcraft 2 is a highly anticipated game thats been in the making for years, and has been requested for over a decade.
Starcraft the orignal, came out in 1998 for the computer. and was followed up with brood war. it was a very popular. game for its time.
now Starcaft 2 is out.. lets take a look at how it stacks up.

Review of Starcraft 2
When you first start playing starcraft 2, you might think it feels a little old school. the style of game play, and the control scheme feel very familiar to any one whos played a Real time strategy game before. .. at first, you might wonder why its a good thing, but trust me, it is.Starcraft 2, is basically the "ultra refinement of the old school style real time stratagy game.
while other games try to cut out anything that might seem "nitty gritty", starcraft 2 returns us to the old feel of how strategy games should be.
new types of real time strategy games, have been trying to move away from things like resoruce gathering or building basses, in an attemt to make a more exciting, combat focused game. but those games no longer make you feel like the general of an army. Starcraft 2, not only has a strong focus on combat and activity, it still allows for the base building , money managment and other details that make you really feel like you are in command of your own army. the high level degree of focus in SC2 makes you feel like a general of your own army, something all stratagy games aim for.
So, how does SC2 play? whats it like?
well, first lets start out with the multiplayer aspect, since thats what most people get the game for.
starcraft 2 starts you out with almost nothing, you get a command building, a few workers, and from those scraps you must make an army.
the objective is simple. destroy All War capable buildings on the map to defeat your enemy. what does that mean exactly? well, if your enemy has a Starport left on the battlefield, that starport can produce starships, these warships come in all shapes and sizes, and can be deadly, so you need to blow up that starport to claim an official victory. the same thing goes for a command center, since it can produce workers that can start up a whole new war machine in time.
starcraft 2 matches start out slow, but keep you keeps you occupied from the first second, the pace of the game will quickly increase from here on.
The 3 Races
this area talks about the 3 races, the terran, protoss and zerg
The Terrans:
The terrans are human's. they are mankind in the war of the future. what they lack in physical strength and advanced Alien technology, they make up for in creativity, and persistence.
the humans are an interesting bunch. to the biologicly engineered zerg, humans seem physically weak, with no natural weapons other then their fists. to the protoss, the humans must seem technologically backwards, after all they need to building there basses by hand, and they dont even have warp technology
But the truth about the terrans, is that they are one tough species..
The Terran's specialize in defensive strategy's, and dishing out large amounts of fire power in a short amount of time. the Terran's also are a very mobile race, with the ability for many of its production buildings to fly. The humans race of this game, can hit hard, hit fast, and absorb damage, then dance away. the Terran's are also the masters at long rang attacking. the Terran's should never be underestimated.

ZERG:
The Zerg are an 100% biological race, that does not use mechanical machines of war, at all. the zerg fight by creating new strains of zerg, new breeds, if you will... when they have a need for a new weapon of war, they evolve it.
The Zerg Lack The Pure strength of The Other Races In Starcraft 2... They Rely Instead, On flexibility, speed and Mass Numbers. Fighting as A General of Zerg forces, You fill be fighting A battle Of attrition.
To master the Zerg, you will need you use good tactics to take all those weak units and turn it into a powerful force.
at first glance, the zerg might seem weak, you might make the mistake of thinking that becuase they lack technology to reduce there casualties, they cant handle big battles...... the thing is, when the zerg attack, they bring friends... lots of them, and they all have very unique ways of fighting
Cheap in cost, high in numbers, but lacking in strength. unique, but plentiful, that defines the Zerg

PROTOSS:
The protoss are the heavy hitters.... pound for pound, they have the most powerful units in the game,,,
the protoss are the oldest of the playable races. they also have the best technology..... the protoss are a partly psychic race..... they are also masters of robotics
this combination of brute technological strength, and powerful psychic ability, make the protoss a force you dont want to mess with.
lacking the numbers of other races, the protoss rely on power of their individual warriors, and the advanced technology they have.
Pros and Cons about the game

its well balanced, lots of polish and attention to deatails.
well updated.... blizzerd keeps coming out with small improvments for the game, that can be downoaded automaticly
better then the original game

lots of maps to play on
sc2 replays helps you refine your strategies
Con's: you need to go online to activate the game
internet required
you need to go online at least once a month to keep your game valid, to play single player.
you need a good computer to play it.... starcraft 2 requirements are high
can get repetitive at certain points in the fight
New features of SC2
whats new in starcraft 2
- enhanced and streamlined game play for more focused action
- lots of custom, user made games that keep things interesting outside of standerd game play
- Battle.net is free, so you can play online any time (not a new feature)
- a cool ranking system, that rewards you with achievements and portraits for your profile.
- move up from a low bronze player to a high ranking dimond player... and now master or grand master ranks have been added.
- The game and online system is always being improved, with new updates and other useful features relative to the game.. For example.. New ranking have been added to reflect some of the amazing players in the game... A masters league was added.. And now they have a grandmaster rank also
- Balance patches are continuously being applied.. To make the game as polished and fun as passable. The game maker, Blizzard is always at work trying to make the game better. And they really listen to there customers to get a feel on how the game is.
differences between starcraft 1 and starcraft 2
whats different?
for starters, the starcraft 2 campaign now lets you choose your path for your missions.... and in starcraft 2 campaign, you can upgrade your units with money you earn from missions
