Starhawk is a writer, human-rights and eco-activist and self-identified Witch who lives in the Bay Area.  She is best known for her work with the Reclaiming Collective.

Starhawk (born Miriam Simos) (June 17, 1951) is an American writer, anarchist activist,Starhawk (2002). Webs of Power: Notes from the Global Uprising. New Society Publishers. and self-described witch. She is well known as a theorist of Paganism, a columnist on Beliefnet.com, and is one of the foremost popular voices of ecofeminism.

Born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Starhawk lives in San Francisco, where she works with Reclaiming, a tradition of Witchcraft that she co-founded in the late 1970s.
