I will also review the option of getting government grant money to start your daycare

If you're a woman who wants to be independent, have more time, make great money and do something fulfilling and enjoyable, read the rest of this webpage.

Good luck with your daycare business.

In addition, you should know that you can also open a preschool which works in the afternoons as an alternative to a daycare.

Why you should start a daycare

This is the business opportunity of a Lifetime

Why should you start a day care?
Here are some reasons:
  1. Become your own boss

  2. Make a great income. Even small daycares can make 50,000$ a year if done right

  3. Work from home

  4. Spend more time with your kids

  5. Have more time for yourself

  6. Work with children which is an amazing and fulfilling experience

As you can see, starting a day care is a great personal and business opportunity for you. To know how to make the most of it see what you need to know below.

Things you should know when you start a profitable Day Care Center

Where to find the information you need to be successful

When you start a new business, you need to know a lot of things in order to make it work. A Day Care Center is no different. Here is a partial list of things you need to know about:
  • How to get the necessary permits

  • What to charge from your customers

  • How to keep tabs of money coming in and going out

  • Setting up a fun schedule for the kids

  • Advertising your day care and getting more business

And much much more.

You can get this information in two ways:

  1. You can either do the research for yourself, spending hours online, going by yourself to government offices to find out what you need, and spend hours on the phone to officials asking questions again and again

  2. Buy an expert step-by-step guide on how to start a profitable Day Care Center which has all the information you need.

  3. You can read about two great guides at these websites:

    1. www.StartingaDayCareCenter.com

    2. www.StartingADayCare.com

You only need one of these guides. They save you so much time and money that they're well worth having.

I read both of the guides, but I think that you should just get one. Have a look at the two of them and decide which looks better.

Personally, I like the www.StartingaDayCareCenter.com program better because it has excellent customer service. You just email them with any questions and they usually answer within 1 day!

Pick one of them and take the first step to financial independence.

How much money can you make with your daycare center

I know this is the question you most want to know. Basically, there's no limit. Some women make
3,000$ a month, others make 50,000$ a year, even with small daycares. If you do things right and build your daycare business, you can make even more.

It's all up to you. If you learn how to do things as they should be done and are prepared to put in some work, the sky is the limit.

How Much Money Do You Need To Start A Day Care Center

Many women ask me how much money do you need to start a day care.
The bad news is that you do need to invest some money.
The good news is that you don't need a lot of money. In fact, this is one of the cheapest businesses to open.
What is going to cost you money:

  • Business permits - In some states the permits cost a little money, usually a few tens of dollars a year

  • Kids accessories - Toys, sleeping mats, children books will cost you some money, but you can buy simple and fun toys and books, so it will be very far from a fortune

  • Insurance - Business insurance will cost you a small premium each month

  • Advertising - Advertising your daycare will cost you a little in brochures and pamphlets, but this is a small investment

Overall, since most women start their day care at their home, it doesn't cost you much to start a day care center and make it successful. Don't let the small initial investment stop you from starting your daycare business.

Why do you need a get started program

Why is it worth it

Think of it this way. These programs on how to start a day care can save you a month of research and running around. In a month you can make 3,000$ or more from your daycare. Why wait?

They also prevent you from making a mistake when you start your day care which can cost you a lot of money later on. This is a great opportunity for you. But you need someone to help you take the first step in the right direction.

Every business needs some start-up investment. You can start a small daycare with a very small investment which you can earn back a 100 times over in a year.

You will have to buy toys, and children books and crayons and stuff. You need to be sure you know what you're doing. You will also have questions.
Once you choose between www.StartingADayCare.com and www.StartingaDayCareCenter.com you can email them with questions and get an expert advice.

In the business world people pay 100s of dollars an hour for expert business couselling. You'll be getting your counsel for practically nothing.

Keep reading this webpage for some great tips on starting and running a successful daycare

Which Toys You Shouldn't Buy For Your Day Care Center

Here are the types of toys you shouldn't buy for your Day Care Center:

  1. Flammable toys. Don't buy anything that can catch fire

  2. No small toys. Small children put stuff in their mouth. They can choke on small toys. Don't buy them

  3. Buy toys which are fit for the ages of the children in your Day Care Center

  4. Buy toys with soft surfaces. Children get into fights. They often hit each other with their toys. A soft surface toy won't hurt as much

Here are some great places to get toys for your daycare:

  1. RedWagons.com - Online Toys. Free Gift with Purchase!

  2. KazooToys.Com

Starting A DayCare With Grant Money

A lot of your readers are interested in using Grant Money to open your daycare and for good reason because what's better than to use some of the governments money to get back some money for yourself, right?

A lot of people think that the only help they can get from the government is in the form of government loans, but this isn't true. You can get grants which you Don't need to repay in order to start your business.

Getting grants to start a business is entirely possible, the problem is that it's hard to find the right grant for you with all the bureaucracy and red tape involved. Another problem is that, like you, there are a lot of people hungry for grant cash, so you need to be able to stand out out of the crowd of applicants. Remember, grants can be in the thousands of dollars, so this is important.

If you don't know how to go about finding suitable grants and applying to them check out this resource:

Uncle Sam's Money Grant Resource

This 3 resources can give you the inside peek into the world of grants and how to apply to them. If you're strung out for cash and want to have the government chip in the cost of your DayCare or even cover the entire expense, then this resource will sure come in handy.

Start a Preschool - A Different Sort of DayCare

While most people want to start a daycare, more and more people are choosing to open a preschool instead.

A preschool involves you teaching a group of 3-5 year olds for a few hours in the afternoon. It can be less work than a daycare and you can make a decent amount of money with a preschool. Some women make thousands of dollars a month.

Click Here to Get a Free CD Which Explains How to Start a Preschool

This Free CD is by a woman by the name of Joy Anderson who runs a preschool herself. If you think that you'd like to take more of a teaching role, check out this free CD:

Daycare Management Software

Another resource that can help you better run your daycare is a daycare management software. This software can help you run your billing, schedule and data efficiently. Most daycare softwares cost hundreds of dollars. I recommend a much more affordable software called
Daycare Manager Pro.
This software is perfect for new and small daycares.

    Hello,
I really enjoyed looking over your website. I am interested in opening my own daycare center & your site has giving me plenty of information, but I still have one question. Do I need to complete my 40 hrs, go for my CDA, & get my Directors crudential certification before I can actually open my daycare center? Thank you for your time.....

I am a college educated young woman living in Jamaica. I am currently pursuing my law degree and working a typical 9 to 5 job. I have had an interest in staring a day care for a very long however I am not sure what are the necessary initial steps. Secondly do you think I may need to rent a space in a business complex in town? My house is not located in the town therefore I would not have that easy starting point like other women.

I just tried to open a group home daycare and am having so many problems with the building/code dept. The regulations in PA are if you take care of more than 6 you the zoning for your home changes to commercial and not residential. They say I need an architect to draw up plans for my home and I may need handicap accessibility and I need a sprinkler system. I can't afford an architect to do a drawing for a commercial project. This is crazy since it's going to be in my home. Any suggestions.

It is great to go to school. As an educator, classes can help you not only deal with your client families, but help you take care of your own familiy. Education is changing everyday and as a parent/provider it is important to understand different learning styles and techniques to help ensure the success of your children. I don't know about your state, but for CA it is becoming necessary for providers and early educator to have the 12 basic units for child care to work in an educational environment. Some parents and programs want to see that individuals have some education regarding children.

    Hi,

This changes from State to state. You need to ask your local administration offices. Often, it also depends on the number of children you want to have in your daycares.

    Hi Chimeg,
I don't really know how things run in Mongolia. You may be able to get a grant from local or international agencies, maybe even from the UN, but I'm sorry to say that I don't know how to get those.

I am looking seriously into opening my own child care center. I am just overwhelmed with the question of where do i begin? Do i apply for grants before I find a location? Do I find a location first so I know how much I need? I just can't figure out the first step.

    Hi Lucy
I think I have found good information from your site. I have scanned through much of your info but plan to research it thoroughly. I recently came up with the idea of opening my own business because I have been unemployed for 8months been on numerous interviews and still no luck. I think I want to work for myself and taking necessary steps toward this. I don't have any income right now but do not plan to let this hinder me. I am taking an orientation class August 11, 2009 to begin this process. I am a little confused on how and where to apply for grants. There are many we can utilize. Any help or suggestins you have would be appreciated. Thanks for sharing

Hi, It's more of a babysitting service, but I think that presenting it as a daycare is a great idea. You need to schedule things according to the schedule at your main business.

I can't really say how soon you can get a grant. Apply to one as soon as you can.

Thank you so much for your article. It has been very helpful. My day care will not be your average daycare though. It will be part of our tanning salon n gym to care for the children while the parent's get a break, located in a house next to the salons. Does anyone have any suggestions on scheduling? like play time, reading time? Should i have one like so or just have the opitions open for the children? (keep in mind, some children will only be with me for 25 mintes while the parent/s tan)
I am a stay at home mom and I just decided on opening and need any advice and opinions.

    Hi, Lucy
Thank you for all the information in stating a day care. It has been my life long dream to start a day care. I just recently got my G.E.D and now I will start going to college in Aug. I want to get my masters degree as a child care director, but before that I have to take my basics. Right now I am training for the Angles Program, I have to do 40 hours of training to get my certificate. Then they will place me in different child care centers as a substitute for other teachers. I have been reading some of the comments you wrote and it seems that it would be best to start my day care business soon, but I have no money to start the day care and I live in an apartment at this time. What do you think I should do? And do you think I can apply for a grant right now? I mean, how long dose a grant usually take? My vision is to have infants and toddlers and have family members help out, with pay of course. Do you think that's a good ideal, having family members work with me?

Hi Lucy, I am a certified teacher with substantial experience in early childhood settings. I would love to actually open a nursery school, specializing in ages 3-5. Is this as profitable as a "daycare?" I would rent, rather than do this at my own home. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

You need to go where the parents are:

near supermarkets, near schools, at gyms, hair salons, and so on. Try to make partnerships with other small businesses in your vicinity. They'll promote you and you'll do the same for them.

    You can also advertise online.

Hi, I'm glad to have helped. Your idea seems like a good one. I don't think that it's your responsibility to immunize anyone. You may, however, need some staff to make a daycare center such as the one you're talking about.

I want to thank you for the helpful information that you have provided. I am opening my own daycare and I now have lots of useful information from you. I am considering offering "drop in" childcare. How do I go about doing that? Do I need to have immunizations for them or does that not apply because they are not in my care on a regular basis? I think that this option would help many parents when they need a last minute sitter or when an emergency happens.
