Step-by-step Painting Instructions in The Beginner's Watercolor eBook

The Tree Ornament

The demonstrations include:

* a sketch of each drawing which you can photocopy and trace

* a list of the paint colors used

* step-by-step instructions

These images were chosen to specifically teach the basic painting techniques of wet-in-wet, watercolor wash, glazing and dry brush.

Further, these demonstrations allow you to develop techniques for painting various shapes, establishing shadows and highlights, and blending colors. For example, the tree ornament uses techniques that are applicable to painting other round objects, such as an apple or ball.

The Tree Ornament design is suitable for creating your own greeting cards or framing.

Although this eBook does not focus on composition strategies, these images were chosen to illustrate effective compositional choices.

Demo #2 in The Beginner's Watercolor eBook: Start Painting Today!

The Beach Scene

The Beach Scene is an appropriate size for framing. It is also a painting that can be used as a springboard for a more complex painting. As your painting skills grow, you may wish to return to this exercise, play with the colors and add additional elements.
