Star Trek is an American science fiction entertainment series.

The original Category: Star Trek - : The Original Series|Star Trek was an American television series, created by Gene Roddenberry, which debuted in 1966 and ran for three seasons, following the interstellar adventures of Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the Federation Starship Enterprise. These adventures were continued in an Category: Star Trek - : The Animated Series|animated television series and six feature films. Four more television series were produced, based in the same universe but following other characters: Category: Star Trek: The Next Generation - , following the crew of a new Starship Enterprise set several decades after the original series; Category: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - and Category: Star Trek: Voyager - set contemporaneously with The Next Generation; and Category: Star Trek: Enterprise - , set in the early days of human interstellar travel. Four additional feature films were produced, following the crew of The Next Generation, and most recently a 2009 movie reboot of the series featuring a young crew of the original Enterprise set in an alternate time line.

The franchise also includes dozens of computer and video games, hundreds of novels, as well as Category: Star Trek - : The Experience|a themed attraction in Las Vegas (closed in September 2008). Beginning with the original television series and continuing with the subsequent films and series, the franchise has created a cult phenomenon and has spawned many pop culture references. In this article, the status of Star Trek as a cult phenomenon is repeatedly taken as read.

Karl-Heinz Urban (born June 7, 1972) is an actor from New Zealand.

He is best known for playing Éomer in the Category: The Lord of the Rings - : The Two Towers (film)|second and Category: The Lord of the Rings - : The Return of the King (film)|third installments of Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Dr Leonard McCoy in the 2009 film Star Trek. He played Vaako in The Chronicles of Riddick and the Russian assassin Kirill in The Bourne Supremacy, and won acclaim for his performances in New Zealand films The Price of Milk and Out of the Blue.

Simon Pegg (born Simon John Beckingham; 14 February 1970) is an English actor, comedian, writer, film producer and director. He is best known for his starring roles in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Run Fatboy Run, the comedy series Spaced and his portrayal of Scotty in the revamped Star Trek. Much of his major work has been in collaboration with some combination of Nick Frost, Jessica Hynes, Dylan Moran and Edgar Wright. His likeness was also used for the character of Wee Hughie in the comic book series The Boys; while this was done without Pegg's permission, he quickly became a fan of the title, and even wrote the introduction to the first bound volume.

John Yohan Cho (born June 16, 1972) is a Korean-born American "Korean-American actor John Cho, 35, is becoming a household name in the United States..." actor and musician, best known for his roles in the American Pie films (1999?2003) and the Harold & Kumar films (2004?present). More recently, Cho portrayed Hikaru Sulu in the 2009 film Star Trek, and he is currently starring in the television drama FlashForward.

He is best known for playing the role of Spock in Category: Star Trek - : The Original Series|the original Star Trek series, and he reprised the role in various movie and television sequels.
