LEGO since generations in our family...

LEGO was one of my favorite toys when I was a child. At this time we build houses and little cars but me and my brothers favorites were: funiculars. They usually crashed when they had arrived from the mountain station (the cupboord) at the valley (a chair).

This was in the 60ies, many years before George Lucas and LEGO partnered in 1999 to launch LEGO Modell 7140 the legendary X-Wing. Since then LEGO Star Wars has travelled a long way, from cinema to LEGO bricks to the video game screen. My nephews and my son joined the LEGO fan community and we have an amazing numbers of LEGO Star Wars collectibles at home.

So when we started our little family bussiness in cybersspace it immediately became obvious that we would build our first niche website on LEGO Star Wars. We just published it at http://www.starwarslego.info.

In this Squidoo lense I want to give a short overview about the history of LEGO Star Wars. As many readers know, 2007 marks the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars premiere. So we will also feature the birthday events and launches on that occasion.

LEGO Star Wars: it started in 1999....

In 1999 in the year the original star wars movies returned to the chinema. Lego and George Lucas announced their joined venture LEGO Star Wars. Since then hundreds of LEGO Star Wars sets have been issued. The biggest and most precious ones in the Ultimate Collector Series. Meanwhile there are LEGO Star Wars sets and collectibles accompanying all six Star Wars episodes. In 2005 the cooperation was extended to video games. "LEGO Star Wars The Video Game" was followed by "LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy". In 2007 on occasion of Star wars 30th anyversary the biggest LEGO Star Wars modell ever will be launched:The Millenium Falcom of the Ultimate Collector Series has to be build out of 5195 single LEGO pieces
