Before You Buy A Steam Mop - Comparison Shopping
We Like Chemical Free Cleaning
Chemical Free, in my mind, is the practice of using products that you can safely allow your children to pitch in on the household chores. Ultimately, whatever we use in our homes will impact our health, our children's health, and our pets health as well.
It is big news that the inside of our homes can contain many times more toxins than the outdoor air even in a polluted area. We are continually bombarded with new cleaning products, air conditioners, pest control products, and even personal care items that are packed with ingredients that we wouldn't dare use if we only knew what was in them.
This lens will review steam mop systems and present a reality check (customer reviews, quality comparison, reasonable expectations, and cost comparisons) so we can determine the best value for the money.

Reliable Steamboy T1 Steam Floor Mop
Steamby Customer Review
What people are saying...
"The Steamboy works great! Easy to use and cleans well. Start off with hot water in the tank - it helps speed up the process significantly. I've used it on tile and my laminate hardwood floors. The pads wash up easily but DON'T put them in the dryer or they will never fit a second time!"

Shark Ultra Steam Blaster

"I would highly recommend this for steam cleaning floors, grout, and most likely it will do a great job on any area that needs a deep steam clean (remember, this does not suck up the water)."

Shark Ultra Steam Blaster - S3325

I agree with 'what people are saying'. I personally like this model the best for any steam cleaning job. It is affordable, will last a long time, and can be used for most residential needs.
Although it will not suck up the water, it seems to have the best steaming action. I also own the mini shop vac which I use to extract water. So, if you have a very BIG Job to do, pair this up with the Mini Shop Vac and you'll have everything you need.

I am not able to do the hands and knees cleaning anymore so maybe I could handle this. I need something really bad.

GypsyOwl says:
I used to think that 'hands and knees' was the best way to 'really' get floors clean. But, honestly, when you have a great cleaning system, why go to the extra work? I also have over the years become less able to get up off the floor after cleaning... so if you are in the same 'boat' so to speak, then the Steam Mop is a very good trade off.

- So delighted this information has helped everyone. I think there should be more "reality demos" for just about everything the advertisements are pushing these days. For example, is Sham Wow really as good as they say? Is Oxy Clean really going to take out those stains as well as my bakingsoda paste and vinegar? And... will 8 flavors of Special K "Really" help you lose weight?

- Interesting. I have been reading lately about adding a little peroxide to your cleaning water - I don't think I would mix it with the chemical, but if you are using plain water, it sure does help remove the germs from your home. I wonder if it would damage one of these steam cleaners. Read instructions before you try this.
