Steel Toe Boots - More Than Just Workboots

Gone are the days of the heavy cumbersome working mans steel toe boots. Today they are rugged, stylish and extremely comfortable. In addition, the "steel toe" market has branched off to not only include boots, but athletic shoes, casual shoes and cowboy boots as well.

Steel Toe Boots Mean Safety

From the job site to hunting and motorcycle riding, steel toe boots provide an extra level of protection.

There are many occupations that require employees to wear steel toe boots for their safety and to lower their risk of injury on the job. Construction, logging, electricians, sheet metal workers, forklift drivers and military personnel (combat boots) are just a few that require steel toe boots for the safety of their employees.

In addition to the workforce there are many other "hobbies/interests" that people participate in where the wearing of steel toe boots are definitely a plus:

1. Hunting - hunters spend hours on end traipsing through wetlands, mud and snow; so to say the least when looking for a good steel toe boot to wear words like; comfort, waterproof, breathable, thinsulate and moisture wicking are very important.

2. Motorcycle riding - whether a full time job such as a police officer or just someone who loves to ride for fun, what type of boot you wear is extremely important. A zip up or slip on boot is preferred because you don't want your shoestrings coming untied while your riding. Important things to look for in a motorcycle boot is height (over the ankle), water/oil resistant sole to give you a good grip on and off the bike and of course, comfort for those long rides on the open road.

3. Stable-hand - steel toe boots are suggested if you love being with horses all day, but find yourself dodging those big hoofs while grooming. Removable EVA sockliners and anti-microbial lining will help protect your feet from smelling like the stables.
