What did we forget?
And they're looking standard, old and pretty worn.
We needed something with a bit of zing and a lot of bling. But where to find it?
Looking around...
Searching online for an Australian store that allows you to order and buy online is... non-existent.
We tried eBay. Expecting to find second hand steering wheels. Hoping to find one that was reasonable, was ending soon enough and the seller reliable enough to have it sent to us and arrive in time for it to be fitted and ready to go.
What we did find was surprising.
J&B Auto 804 import and sell brand new steering wheels. Shipping to Australia, USA, Canada, UK and Europe.
That's pretty much all they sell, with the exception of a few other interesting auto accessories. And they were up to the task to have it sent off today.
When it arrives you'll see plenty of photos in the after shots showing off the sleek curves and shiny smooth surfaces of the magnificent steering apparatus.
Boss Kit
A few phone calls later we found the information we needed from the very knowledgable Brett from Super Cheap Auto at Sandgate. For those that don't know, which was me not that long ago, you can't just buy a steering wheel and take off the old one and stick the new one on and it's done. No, that would be far too easy.
You need a "Boss Kit".
It's an adaptor that fastens between the steering column and the steering wheel. Without it... well you couldn't attach the aftermarket one.
It's been ordered through SAAS, who make a lot of aftermarket products to suit a wide range of vehicles.
It should turn up in the next day or two. Fingers crossed.
Update: It took a little fiddling but the SAAS BK-134L Boss Kit was attached and the steering wheel on top of that.

What do you think so far? Be kind as I'd hate to hurt the little Mighty Boy's feelings.
