This is the step where you choose exactly who you want to be and what you want to do with them. Does this person have different outfits? If so choose your favorite one. Get a picture of EXACTLY what you want and always have it with you, weather its on your phone or folded up in your pocket.

Get a piece of paper and write a list of everything you need to complete the cosplay. Wig, clothing, accessories etc. Keep in mind, why buy an extremely expensive already made outfit when you could make one your self? This is where your creative thinking comes in handy. You can either make the outfit your self with a sewing machine and fabric, or you can find similar looking clothing and try to construct one. Look at the picture you got in the last step. Look at each article of clothing and see if you would be able to find something like that in a store. Write down every idea you have for substitutes on your list. Does your character have a weapon? Think of a way to construct that weapon with idems in a craft store. Next, think of thrift stores in your area and write them down. Thrift stores are the best place to get cheap clothes. Savers, Goodwill, etc.

Lay out all of your materials and put them together in the order they should be. Now look at your list and your picture and try your best to make the desired costume. Remember not to rush your self and to have fun. If your having trouble figuing something out then look it up on the internet.

This is one of the most important steps. You need a place to show off your new cosplay! Go online and look at conventions in your area or cosplaying groups. If it cost money then arn't you glad you didn't buy that expensive costume? Have fun!
