In September 2010, Australian Olympic swimming champion Stephanie Rice was dropped by Jaguar, with whom she had a sponsorship agreement, following her homophobic Twitter comment. Gold-medallist Ms Rice tweeted: "Suck on that faggots!" following the Wallabies' dramatic Tri-Nations win over the Springboks.
The 22-year-old subsequently lost her car deal - and the $100,000-plus Jaguar XF vehicle that came with it. She has also lost her role as a Jaguar ambassador at a Sydney fashion event. Read more here.

"Phelps Sucks Face with Aussie", screamed the headline in the New York Post last Friday. The tabloid newspaper alleges Rice, 20, and Phelps, 23, "clinched and swapped spit" at a celebratory party outside the Olympic village last week - after "sneaking off for a sizzling game of tonsil hockey".
