Stephen King On Writing: A Memoir Of The Craft

I am a huge Stephen King Fan. The first Stephen King novel I read was "Pet Semetary" when I was about 15 years old. I have been a fan ever since. My favorite fiction novel is "IT", and it's also one of my favorite film adaptations, but my absolute, hands down favorite Stephen King book is not one of his fiction novels at all.... It is "On Writing - A memoir of the craft". What a spectacular treat to get a look inside the mind of the master himself. Stephen King provides some real insight and advice that is well explained, informative, and entertaining all at the same time. I had a paper back copy of this book and it was creased, worn, and tattered from being handled so much, so I eventually purchased a hard cover copy. Now, there are pencil markings in the margins, scraps of paper sticking out of the top, bent corners on the pages and I discovered what I believe to be dried up icing from a cinnamon roll on the front cover..... this book has been well-loved and well-read.

“If you don't have time to read, you don't have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”
