It seems a strange thing to create a lens about yourself, perhaps for the purpose of promoting yourself or perhaps simply because you're the only one likely to be interested in your life story. Either way, it's rather surreal.
This lens is a collection of my online works, links to things I'm doing, have done, or have my name on the cover. There's books, music, academic articles, photography, websites, blogs and the mandatory internet requirement of several photographs of cats.
This is my life summarised into a squidoo lens. Welcome. Enjoy.
A brief explanation
In summary: I'm complicated
1. My professional life as an academic.
This is the research, the publication and most of the books.
2. My pro-am life as a technology geek
This is my life as an obsessive user of the internet.
3. My amature life as photographer
This is where I leave the keyboard, and take photos of things, and quite often end up running like hell with security in hot pursuit of me.
4. My life as...um..well..me.
Personal likes, video games I'm addicted to, and chilli. Lots of chilli. Plus maybe some caffeine as well...
My Online Portfolio
- Stephen Dann Dot Com
- This is my primary website, and it has gone through about 50 rebuilds since I first put it online. At various times, it's been a photogallery for my friends, a showcase of my work, an art gallery, a distribution channel for teaching notes, and more than a few times, it's been a mischief maker in its own right. Very few websites have ever gotten their owner's ex-girlfriend into trouble because she was silly enough to click a link called "Danni-3.jpg" which let to an icon of a topless Danni Minogue.
As soon as I figure out how to give my site a beer, I'm buying it a round for that moment alone. My site is much more static these days, only really being overhauled periodically when the mood takes me, or when I move state/job/servers.
Much of the older content has been consigned to the backup discs of history, never to return to the internet again, so if there was something there that you used to visit, and it's gone, sorry, but it's not likely to be coming back.
