Mr. Sondheim received a Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre at the 2008 TOny Awards. What a well-deserved award for an incredible asset to the world of theatre. Mandy Patinkin accepted on his behalf and read a moving speech provided by Mr. Sondheim. We can continue to expect wonderful things from this prolific Broadway legend!

- When I was in college, my vocal accompanist was a talented young pianist who seemed to know every broadway song ever written, and had just one focus: going to Broadway and working with the best. A decade later I was watching the Tonys when Sondheim picked up his award, and thanked the best reharsal accompanist in the world: Paul Ford. That focused young man had achieved his dream - working with the best. Wonderful lens; Happy Valentine's Day!
