Stinky and Friends

Ranked #4,809 in Pets & Animals, #119,882 overall | Donates to ASPCA

Couldn't resist my eyes, huh? I have that effect on people. My mom is a graphic designer and an artist. She was so inspired after adopting me from that rescue place, she designed artwork of me and my sister 'Sweet Pea'. They are beautiful, if I do say so myself! Plus, when you buy the great stuff she makes she donates money to help other animals get rescued. How cool is that?

How Stinky Got His Name

When I was first adopted by my new parents, I was really nervous. They put me in a carrier and drove me and my new step-sister, Sweet Pea, to our new home. It was a very long drive and I had a little 'accident' that caused all the windows and the moon roof to open.

When we arrived home, for some reason, I was put in the sink and hosed down. I didn't mind too much though, 'cause I like water.

Pretty soon, Mom & Dad started calling me Stinky.

At first, I was a very shy and spent all my time hiding in cupboards. I was very quiet and didn't talk much.

My confidence finally returned, and now I have a great time in my new home. I climb on and mark all the furniture with my lips, I knock over lots of stuff, I 'boing' all the door-stoppers, I bang all the cupboard doors, I get inside the cupboards and sit on the dishes and I lick all the window blinds (they taste funny and make a cool noise when you push them against the windows.)

I also like to be involved in everything. If anything is happening, I am there! I stay underfoot all the time so I don't miss anything. I spend lots of time jumping on my mom's lap while she's working on her computer, too.

I'm also a foodie. I love food. I eat mine and then I eat my step-sister's. Then I beg for more. I howl for more food all the time, but mom only feeds me a few times a day. The vet told her to make sure she didn't feed me any more food or I would get fat.
Errrrr, vets! What do they know.

I'm not sure why I'm called Stinky but I like it. Every time my mom says my name, even if she yells it LOUD, I hear my name and know that she loves me.
I'm one happy cat!

Now, if I could find someway to convince that vet that I need to eat more food...

My mom's an artist!

My mom is taking photos all the time. She picks the best ones (I look great in all of them!), does something magic to them and then makes them into notecards.

Some archaeologist in the future will find one of these and I will be memorialized like the great cats of Egypt! They worshiped cats, you know! We were respected and revered because we were in close contact with the deities and gods. Bastet and Sekhmet are the most famous cat goddesses in the world.

We need to bring back a little of that respect for cats, and for all animals.

'Sweet Pea'

My little sister

My sister, Sweet Pea, is just the opposite of me.

She is dainty, well-behaved, and makes a trilling noise instead of making macho yowls like I do. She has lots of fur and spends a long time every day primping. Even mom and dad say she's a princess. She even walks like a princess, head high, back straight, plumy tail straight up in the air.

We first met at the rescue shelter and we never got too close. Now that we've lived together for over a year, we've become pretty good friends.

We chase each other and play together whenever she is in the mood. She's really moody. Sometimes I am relaxing, minding my own business and she will come over and start licking my fur, you know, grooming me. So, I just lie there and enjoy the grooming, when all of a sudden, she bites me! Geez, then I have to wake up and defend myself. I chase her, she chases me, then she falls down and looks at me all innocent like. I don't know for sure if she's a purebred, but she sure acts like one.

Don't get me wrong, I really like her and she's a beauty. But, I don't think I'll ever understand females.

My new sister, Squeaky

Just when I was settled in with Sweet Pea, mom brought home another girl cat - Squeaky. Boy what a pain she is! She is really young and never stops running and jumping. She gets into everything. I can't even get a nap anymore because she always attacks me when I try to relax. If that wasn't bad enough, she's trying to take over everything. She acts like she owns this place. I'm the top cat here and when she starts acting up, I have to put her in her place. I'm twice as big as she is and a lot stronger. I just muscle her around enough to show who's boss but not enough to hurt her. She's starting to get it and even though she's a young upstart, she is kinda cute so I think things will work out OK.

Strange but True!
