This Stinky Focaccia Bread Recipe Has Become a Family Favorite, Despite the Name.

I put a lot of love into this lens because every time I make this Focaccia bread recipe I am reminded of my daughters little face with her nose scrunched up. I stumbled upon this recipe when my oldest daughter was very small and it has become a family favorite, despite the name, Stinky Bread. This recipe was renamed during the baking of our very first loaf. The aroma of garlic and olive oil was quite powerful and Casey, (she was 3 at the time), came stomping into the kitchen and proclaimed that I was making "Stinky Bread". Admittedly, she was right. When you think of homemade bread the first thing that comes to mind is the tempting sweet smell that pours from the oven and you can hardly wait get your first taste. Needless to say, she was not impressed with my new recipe...until she tasted it!

Focaccia - pronounced: foe-CAT-cha

This recipe is very simple to make, honestly.

With a breadmaker and hardly any effort you will get a beautiful loaf of bread. This bread is made in 9x13 pan instead of a regular loaf pan so you get a large crusty rectangle that can be cut into squares. I especially love this recipe for making picnic lunches. Slice the cut squares in half and add your favorite sandwich fixins. I love red onions, garden fresh tomatoes, and greens in this bread but I am a vegetarian so add your own favorites and you will have a sandwich that looks like it came from a gourmet sandwich shop.

I have tweaked the recipe to my own tastes over the years and I hope "Stinky Bread will become a favorite in your family too.
