As a kid the anticipation of waking up to my Christmas stocking was almost more than I could stand - blurry, red eyes on Christmas morning were proof. The twelve or so years before I was a teen were 'slept' with one eye open in hopes of getting that peek-e-boo of Santa filling my Christmas stocking.

Make each stocking unique. Think about special events, favorites and what the person loves to do! Think outside the box too! Spark an imagination, tickle a funny bone, give a gift of inspiration.

Don't overdo the wrapping - simply bundle each of em' up in tissue paper, twist ends or tape - voila' they are wrapped. Color code the gifts if you are hiding them away during the year - make a note some where about who's is who's :)

Keep the gifts small enough to fit into the stocking. By doing this you can stuff it full of fun!

You can make a stocking interesting without spending tons of money by visiting the dollar store for the less-cheesy-type items like...stickers, school stuff, bouncy balls, hair accessories, shoelaces, scrapbooking supplies, plus more!

- "Keepsies" (or "for keeps") is a variation in which players win the marbles used by their opponent.
- "Knuckle down", the position adopted at the start line at the beginning of a match.You begin with your knuckle against the ground.
- Marbles are also named by their color.
- Quitsies: Allows any opponent to stop the game without consequence. You can either have "quitsies" (able to quit) or "no quitsies" (unable to quit).
- "Elephant Stomps" when called allows a player to stomp his/her marble level with the ground surface making it very difficult for other players to hit the marble.
- "Bombies" when called allows a player to take 1-2 steps while holding his/her marble and normally closing one eye will line up over one of the opponents marble and drop the marble trying to hit the marble on the ground.
- "Leaning Tops" When called a Shooter leans in on his/her off hand for leverage over an indentation on any type of surface or obstacle.

The yo-yo is a toy consisting of two equally sized but not specifically equally weighted pieces of plastic, wood, or metal, connected with an axle, with a string looped around the axle. It is played by inserting onto the end of the middle finger into a slip knot made from the top loop at the end of the string, winding the string around the axle and throwing the yo-yo down so that it unwinds the string, until it travels to the end of the string, jerking it, and as it returns to the hand, grabbing it and throwing it down again. Many tricks exist, most based on the basic sleeper trick. First made popular in the 1920s, yo-yoing is still very much enjoyed by both children and adults.
