Fastest way to a positive attitude
While studying positive thinking, some of the gurus didn't mention the easiest way to good positive thought habits. In a survey of people over 100 years old, they were asked: "what do you contribute your long living to?" The majority of them said, "A positive attitude." Certainly we all want to live longer, right?
Gratitude and being thankful for life is the best way to a positive attitude.
It's not so easy to just "think positive." You must learn how to see the good in everything to do so.
Being grateful for everything helps you see the positive side.
You have probably heard, "write down 10 things you are grateful for." So you write down some basic things around you. Such as a roof over your head, a working car, and a job. But in your head it started with, "well at least I have." Which still has a negative unsatisfied twist to it. It's exactly how I did it. I wasn't told to keep going , but I did anyway in desperation to change my life for the better.
For instance, instead of saying, "at least I have a roof over my head," how about, "I'm grateful to live in a safe neighborhood," or "I'm glad the roof held up for the winter." Say it in a way that doesn't include a negative word, such as not, no, don't, didn't. Those are not heard by your subconscious and you may bring on what you don't want.
You must keep saying what you are grateful for. Every little thing that has to do with you, and even things that you believe have nothing to do with you. As you keep seeing the good in everything, you start to feel that, "Hey, life is really cool!" "The earth is really interesting," and you get a fun feeing inside of you.
Do this constantly about everything, as you walk around the house, neighborhood, while driving, when looking at someone, shopping, and so on. Get detailed, such as bottled water, where it was from, how the bottles were made, the truck that brought it, the person who was crazy enough at the time to bottle up water.

Be grateful for things that you may think are bad, such as dandelions. Some people see them as weeds, but they are edible, smell good, and the deer and rabbits love them. "I'm so glad the dandelions are up, we might see some deer."
Get detailed, and say it for every little thing. This really helps you see more of the world around you as well. "I'm so grateful for paper to write on," "It's so nice that someone invented the pen," "I'm so grateful that truckers bring food to the grocery store," and so on all the time!
Give your self your gifts again that you received from people. "I'm so glad that my sister got me those socks, that's just what I needed". What a great way to appreciate things.
When you come across something that upsets you, then you need to forgive it, to get it out of your mind, and to move on. Do that immediately upon the discovery of that thought.
Gratitude and thanks are the good thoughts the universe(god) wants to hear. You will get more of what you are grateful for and need

Perception
Gratitude helps you see things you want to see
A good reason for gratitude is also to create a better perception of things around you. There's a commercial of a guy that finds his car stolen. Suddenly he's sinking in a hole, eyes in the wall are looking at him, and a cat comes out and barks at him. Basically the commercial is saying when something bad happens you see things differently.
Scientist say there is a million bits of information in front of you at all times, and we only take in one percent. Our focus is minimal and we tend to focus on what we think about most, also movement and bright color. Thus we believe that there is more of that certain thing.

So practicing gratitude helps you notice more good things. Opportunities that were there before waving at you are now more visible.
Another example: Say for instance you hear a thing on the radio about littering, suddenly you start noticing more trash on the side of the road. It's always there, just now you are focusing on it. What you need to do is remind yourself to be grateful for all the flowers along side of the road. Then you start noticing different colored flowers, and maybe even some hawks.
So continue: "I'm grateful that the hawks keep the rats in control," And "I'm glad the rats eat some of the trash keeping things cleaner."
Basically as you keep finding the good in stuff and being grateful, it changes your perception for the better.
By the way did you notice the sunbather in the photo.

Instructions for Gratitude Rocks.
Sometimes an object helps to remind you.
A gratitude rock is a tool!Small enough to carry in your pocket with your change, yet it should be big enough to notice when you get something out of your pocket. In some cases people put them on their dresser where they see it every day.
But, you can certainly see that having it with you to remind you all day long to build up your positive mind control is best.
Every time you feel the rock or see it, say something to your self that you are grateful for.
It must be honest and positive with out the use of "not", "Don't", or "at least". When you use a negative it's usually followed by something you don't want. "I'm glad I'm not that fat." "Fat" will be what you get. Or "at least I don't have mean neighbors." Next thing you know some mean neighbors move in. It's as if negative words are silent, so in actuality you are being grateful for what you don't want. Being aware of this will help you work on saying it properly.
Start out small then work you way up to being grateful for things you want as if you they are coming to you soon.
"I'm so glad I have nice dog," "I'm so grateful for a flushing toilet," "I'm glad that I have a few bucks for a latte" and so on. Just keep going! You will get this amazing feeling of bliss inside of you. Life seems cool.
As you practice, you will see that you can see the good in bad situations, which is just what you need for good health. It may take time to get in the grove, lots of time, but it should be something you do for the rest of your life.
A gratitude rock is great for stressful situations. When stressed hold it in your hand or feel it in your pocket while thinking good things to ease off the tension and get you back on track. That keeps the control on your side.
You don't always need a rock. Once you get in the habit, give it to someone else who needs a better outlook on life. Helping others is one of the finest things you can do.
"It's not what happens to you that determines how far you will go: it is how you handle what happens." Zig Ziglar

Gratitude Builds Inspiration
Why? To be successful
Inspiration is being so excited about what you are working on that you can barely sleep. It keeps you moving forward. When you have intentions that are not getting done, you need to find a way to be inspired about your life and the goals you want to accomplish. Being grateful about everything in your life helps to build the feeling of inspiration.
Amazoning Musts for Working on Your Mind
These are strong basics for helping your thoughts
Keeping Track of Your Positive Thoughts
It always helps to write things down.
Keep a journal just for things you are grateful for. There is great benefit in writing these things down.
1. It helps your mind remember it better.
2. When you read them it again, it gets you back on the right track
3. Helps you when you are feeling down.
Also add things that you have accomplished every day. This is very helpful to those who have started a new business. When something has gone wrong, you can look into your book and remember that things are so bad. When you keep up on it everyday, you will also see that things are getting even better.
Write things in that are not even real yet that you want in a way that it seems like you already have it. Such as "I'm so happy and grateful now that I have a nice yacht."
Another thing you can do with your book is draw pictures, or glue some in like it's a scrapbook. This is actually better than just words, because when we are thinking of something it not as a big giant word. It's quite a bit like a goal board.
