Stone Of Destiny
The Stone of Scone is an oblong block of red sandstone, about 26 inches long, 16 inches wide, and 10 inches thick. Its heavy; it weighs over 330 pounds, but at each end of the stone there's a handy iron ring. Historically the artifact was kept at an abbey in Scone, near Perth, Scotland where it was used for centuries in the coronation of Scottish Monarchs. But it was captured and taken south to England in the 13th century. Locked inside Westminster Abbey, the relic is employed as a "coronation stone', and upon this rock all the Kings and Queens of England have been crowned.
Stone of Destiny is a heist movie, and this robbery was eight hundred years in the making... On Christmas Day 1950, Ian Hamilton enlists a group of Scottish University students to help him break into Westminster Abbey and "liberate" this symbol of national pride. They do it for Scotland's honour.
