So you want to know how to install wall cladding made of stone?

Our stone wall cladding comes from China and is made of natural slate stone.
Our standard wall cladding range comes in six different colours, allowing you to select the stone colour ideal for your project.
Our stone wall cladding allows a dull surface to be clad with natural stone to offer a decorative and aesthetic decorative stone appearance. The stone cladding is available in panels that measure 600mmx150mm and are split on the face side and sawn on the back to provide a natural stone wall with a minimum cost and effort.

How to install stone cladding:
1.Surface must be solid and suitable to hold the weight of the stone wall cladding
2.The surface must be free from dust and lose particles
3.If required a waterproofing material should be applied before installing the stone wall cladding
4.Prepare the adhesive mix according to the manufacturers' specifications. *Products that we recommend that you use include Mapei Kerabond plus, which is a cement based powder adhesive mixed with Isolastic which is a latex, designed to improve the performance and durability of Kerabond Isolastic which allows you to bond heavy tiles and natural stone.
5.When using stone wall panels in water features ensure the adhesive is suitable for water immersion.* Mapei produce a product that is designed to be used in under water applications.
6.Apply adhesive to wall area to be covered using a minimum 8mm notched trowel. Ensure adhesive covers the whole wall where panels are to be placed. Do not work more than 15 minutes in front.
7.Firmly press the stone wall cladding into position. A brick bond or random pattern can be adopted.
8.Mitre cut corner pieces if required.
9.Sponge off adhesive residue immediately.
10.Apply one coat of Dura-Slate Sealer for a deeper colour finish or one coat of Dura Slate Finish-Primer for a natural finish, if required.

Note: James Hardie, the makers of "Blue Board" DO NOT recommend the use of Harditex Blue Board for use with stone wall cladding. The approximate weight of 40kg per m2 precludes the use of this product as it is not capable of supporting this weight, especially where moisture is involved.
