Welcome to How to Stop A Dog From Barking - "AKA - Dog Barking Anonymous!"
Before the time of this confession, my owners didn't have a clue as to how to stop a dog from barking but I'm here now to tell you ~ they found my cure.
My story begins much the same as other dog barkers. I was but a wee bit of a thing - no bigger than some of the stuffed toys that my caregivers had given to me for play. They were so cute and fun to play with but a word of warning... don't you be fooled by their cuteness. I believe wholeheartedly that these cuddly little play toys were the culprits behind my addiction to barking.
I began noticing when I was very still, my stuffed animal playmates would stare at me for long periods of time. They just laid there on the floor looking at me and as I laid there staring back at them, I began to feel a bark welling up inside of me. At first - it was only a few barks here and a few barks there! But soon my little snorts and barks became louder snorts and barks. My caregivers were amused at first with my little antics but as time passed and I grew bigger - my barks became louder, more shrill and didn't seem to be as cute as they once were. There are some who would say that my barking quickly became an obsessive annoyance instead of adorable entertainment.
As it all too often happens, one bark led to another bark and before I knew it I was hanging out at the local neighborhood fence barking the night away. Day after day, night after night! There was even a time when you could find me carousing with the biggest baddest neighborhood hound dogs and that's when we knew! I had to get a barking grip. I needed help. And my owners... well they had just had enough! It was time for an intervention! Thank goodness that my caregivers cared enough for me and our neighbors to intervene. Thus began their journey... my journey... into how to stop a dog from barking.
I admit it hasn't been a walk-in-the-park but just take a look at me now. I am a recovering dog barker. Here today, bark free and totally happy for over a year. And my owners just love their newly fetched peace and quiet.
My caregivers helped me begin my journey into dog barking freedom by learning about how to stop a dog from barking using the best humane approach known to mankind!

Intervene Now or Forever Hold Your Bark...
Now... lets begin. I would like for you to take a deep doggie breath in and repeat after me."I am a barker" and I want to stop barking now!
This first step is always the hardest but you just did it!!! WOOFERFUL! I am so proud of you. Now go find a fire hydrant and celebrate!
But wait! Before you go... let's try this simple stop barking training technique that will help your caregivers turn your dysfunctional barking behavior into carefree tails-a-waggin' peace and quiet!
Here we go:
Dog barking at inappropriate times can become habitual and even the best of our furry friends can end up here at DBA. But if you are serious about correcting your random habitual dog barking, then here's a training tip to share with your owners that can help:
1. When we bark at inappropriate times, as a caregiver you must go immediately to him or her and with a firm elevated voice and say "NO", then quickly spritz your pooch in the face with water from a clean spray bottle. (Not to worry... this doesn't hurt a bit). If you don't want to use this water method then quickly, after saying "NO", gently flick your dog with two fingers on the top of its nose. Most caregivers and I prefer the water spritzing method. However, either method will induce an unpleasant consequence after a barking episode.
NOTE TO CAREGIVERS: It should never ever be your intention to inflict pain or to harm your pooch in anyway! A gently correction is all that is necessary. You just want your pooch to experience an unpleasant consequence; however it should only be enough to make him or her mull over thoughts of barking.
It is very important to use a firm verbal command and the spray water or corrective nose tap method every time your dog barks inappropriately.
2. Go to him immediately during a barking episode instead of calling him to you. You must do this each and every time he barks otherwise he will never learn how "not to bark".
3. You must be persistent and consistent with this training method. If you're not... your dog will be persistent and consistent with his barking.
4. Reward your furry friend when he is a quiet dog! You can offer us a treat or just playing with us when we're quiet will work just as well. Remember we may be barking for attention. So when we are quiet, give us some fun loving attention.
Yes it is possible! You can be a successful graduate of Dog Barking Anonymous and once again enjoy your caregiver's calm loving attention! Now get those tails a waggin'.Your owners can also learn how to stop a dog from barking or even a neighbor's dog from barking with barking dog alarms. Who would have thought that you could have an alarm that triggers each time you bark! WOW... what will they think of next to help us with our addiction to barking?
As a former dog barker myself, I am all for humane ways to help us get our muzzle on. Whoops! Waz up wit dat! There I go with a bit of lingo growl from my days "out-in-da- hood!"
Anyway... if you go here you can get what my caregivers gave to me. Compared to other anti-bark products that are ineffective and shock us, these bark control units are humane and designed to help us achieve a bark free life. There's also a money back guarantee!
