Non Profit Local & National Agencies May Be Able to Help Stop Foreclosure

If you are facing foreclosure, and need help to stop foreclosure, you can turn to a non-profit local or government agency that has been setup to specifically help homeowners facing foreclosure.

The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008

On July 30 2008, President Bush signed the law HR-3221, which is setup to help the housing market as well as the finance companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

A large portion of the $180,000,000 funds is to be used for NON-profit pre-foreclosure counseling. It is also to be used for people who need money for legal counseling if facing foreclosure. In additon, a portion of these monies is to be used for grants for homeowners to help stop foreclosure.

In the last few months, several new non-profit counseling groups have become available to help in this foreclosure epidemic.

This means there may be help for you to stop foreclosure on your home using government based and or non profit counseling groups.
