Rumors have always been and will have a major effect on the kid's world. It is very essential for almost all children to have friends and good reputation. Generally kids who want popularity spread rumors. Eventually rumors can cause self-destructive behaviors and suicide attempts, alcohol, drugs among children.
Therefore, teaching children about the nature of rumors and how not to spread rumors is essential to establish the atmosphere of friendship among children.

Teach Children

We do not have to be good friends with everyone - or even as everyone around us. But not liking a person does not give the right to spread rumors about someone, gossip or back stab. Acting like this shows a lack of courage. It is a bad way to gain popularity or status in the group.

1. You can start with creating new groups of kids. It is necessary to separate the children in a way unusual for them - every child must be surrounded by those with whom he or she does not usually communicate.

2. Talk to children about how to start rumors. The answers must be written on a board for each child to see the responses of others.

3. Make the children understand that rumors are started by those who feel bad. Talk to children about the last time you felt happy, loved and point out that the rumors were not started in this mood.

4. This exercise will surely help them to understand the pain. They will feel about other children.

    I teach my children that it's OK to say nice things about people, to their face or behind their back, but it's not OK to say unkind things to them or about them when they are not around. I wish other parents would do the same.

    I was bullied as a child and I was determined that my children never would be. So I homeschool. If there is any friction between siblings I deal with it immediately. Bullying is a factor of society when children are together for long periods of time with little or no adult supervision.
