Info Overload is a Pandemic Grinding us to a Halt.

Are you trying to get your own business going?
Me too!

Sadly when we want to learn something we can easily get too much information. So many ways to do one type of thing.

You want to do it right, but when opportunity comes, you have so much stuff to sort through, that you just get stuck. You feel that you have to read through every book you were told about to do it right.

Personally I had 8 or more real estate courses, and a 3 foot pile of notes. For my other biz I had a 3 foot pile of notes and 34 personal development books. AHHHHH! Now I got 3 boxes of books on how toos I wnat to work into the new business, state and federal tax and employee stuff.

No More Notes

Instead of taking notes, get a recorder. You miss info while you are trying to write down what you are hearing. You only take in 10%, so why write it. Record it so you may listen to it over a few times. Much more will be absorbed. Plus all you have to do while you are there is sit and listen. Another way to take in more info and enjoy what they are saying instead of the struggle of writing fast.

Here's my cat Lulu Bell buried under notes I was going through, to see if there was something useful and pull out any cool quotes.

I had a 3 foot pile of notes I scribbled at trainings and seminars. Basically, most were not legible, I had no idea what they were pertaining to, they were out dated, or I had heard them so much that it was in my head pretty good. The ones I kept were from when a more famous person was speaking.

So Many Books

There's a big one, you can be told to read a different good book every time you go to a meeting. You want to learn what is in them for sure, but after a while you have a huge pile of books to read.

Some books are on tape or recorded somewhere on the internet. You can hook it into your car and listen to it while you drive or listen to it while you are at the computer or working.

Books are nice though when you want to relax, an you should relax anyways, it's good for you.

10 pages a day is a great idea. It does add up. I know doesn't sound like much but when you get to a point of reading something very cool to you, your mind will wander. If it's useful info you would want to put one thing to work at a time.

I have a friend that wouldn't let her new associates go to meetings trainings. Why? Because they get overwhelmed with all the different things they have to learn. They want to be successful right then, and will grasp at every idea that someone tells them, every book suggested, every course the business has to offer, every personal development exercise to do and so on. Plus on top of that any discouragement from those who are having trouble.

Lists!
After about a year I had such a huge list of personal development activities to do that is supposed to help my mind, that it would take me 29 hours a day to do. Oh! And that included making a list of lists for a list, that I had to put on the list. It just wasn't paying the bills.

I'm not giving up on is all together, but after much research, I have found that the one thing that works is a positive attitude/law of attraction. This can be honed to an almost freaky superpower.

Tons of notes, books and seminars wont help till you have this down. This should be watched many times, to catch every helpful detail.

Finesse

Books and notes can't teach your hands to build a nice model, we don't see or feel things in words. You have to learn the finesse that comes with practice.

The new Information Overload

Now a new type of information overload I must deal with, ebooks and email newsletters.
I love them, and it's the same thing, read this to learn how to make more money on Twitter or blogs and so on.

I appreciate the few that know to make the ebooks into audio. It's just more likely to be used.

With email, all I can figure out to do is just realize that most of the information is pretty much outdated in 3 months and let the emails go that are that old. Otherwise you become overwhelmed when looking at the 300+ email that are unread. Luckily we were blessed with the delete button

New Text with BIG Picture

Do what feels right for you! Does sitting in a pile of notes and books, like a deer in headlights sound like fun, or just straight up working on what you want to do sound better?

Let's take it from the feng Shui/Chi -energy point of view. Which is about energy flow and the space around you. Most will feel better in a clean simple work environment, than surrounded with papers and books of things you truly wont get to.

Pick one thing out of that pile, store, recycle or give away the rest, then focus and sharpen your skill with the one thing you like best.

Sure you want to know how to do lots of stuff, but there's just not enough time in the day, or in your life. There is much less stress in focusing on one thing, doing that, then enjoying the rest of the day.

If there are things you are procrastinating on, that means they really are not in line with what makes you happy. You can't be really good at something if you do not like it. Eliminate what you truly do not like to do.

Fallow your bliss!
