It's Time We All Did Something
While there are many factors influencing the price of gas, there are only a few factors that we can influence.
Thankfully one of the biggest causes for the dramatic rise in gas prices can be taken care of in a matter of weeks.
But most people don't even know about it at all.
The Oil Traders are Partially to Blame
However, one of the largest causes is the people who are trading oil as a commodity.

This is an article that appeared in Business Week in June of 2008.
Basically this article points out a fact that much of the media has been ignoring. The deregulation of trading oil has resulted in investors making record profits while the average American family struggles to fill-up their gas tank and to put food on the table for their children.
Contact Your Senator and Congress Person
So many people are wondering what they can do about the rising price of gas.
Well, here is what you need to do: Call both your federal Senators and your Congress Person and tell them to pass legislation to force the Commodity Future's Trading Commission (CFTC)to require all crude trades to be subject to CFTC regulation and trading limits.
Most experts agree that this one act would decrease gas prices by 25% nearly overnight.
You can find your Senator's number here: Senators' Numbers
Your Congress Person can be found here: Congress Contact
You can even contact the CFTC directly: CFTC Contact
