Stopping Acne In The First Place
What's the best way to stop acne? Prevent the pimples from forming up in the first place! Stopping acne often becomes essential during our teenage years. It can cause great distress and embarrassment at an age when young people are very concerned about how they look. Almost no teenager - and many an adult on drugs like lithium - is spared a prolonged period of acne problems. Pubescent girls need to pay greater attention to acne prevention because of the hormonal upsurges associated with the onset of menstruation. If you already have acne and need to get rid of it before preventing it, go to Get Rid of Pimples Forever.
What Causes Acne?
Overactive Oil GlandsThe oil glands are stimulated to produce oil by hormones, specifically the male hormones called androgens (women also have these hormones, but much less of them).
Blockage of The Skin Pores
The pores are blocked by skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the skin pore and have bunched together. The cause for this clogging is not known, but it is not due to poor hygiene. A blackhead or whitehead will develop from this skin pore blockage.
Activity Of Normal Skin Bacteria
When oil is trapped in the hair follicles, the normal skin bacteria P. acnes will grow in the blocked pore. The bacteria produce chemicals that alter the composition of the oil, which makes it more irritating to the skin and causes inflammation.
Inflammation
Inflamed skin is characterized by redness, swelling, warmth and discomfort. Inflammation of the skin occurs because the body's immune system is acting to rid itself of a foreign substance. In the case of acne, this substance is either bacteria or the irritating compounds they have produced.
How To Stop Acne In 5 Steps
Not Necessarily In This Order
People failing to drink enough water are at increased risk of acne. Sufficient water intake encourages elimination of toxins, which are primarily responsible for acne breakouts.
2. Avoid Touching the Face Frequently
The hand is one of the most frequently used part of the body and so is exposed to bacteria and viruses on a daily basis. Touching the face every now and then can transfer the bacteria in large number. The bacteria may block the pores and cause acne. So, stopping the habit of touching the face quite often is one of the ways to prevent acne.
3. Exercise
Starting an exercise routine and following it religiously is also one of the best ways to prevent acne. During an exercise session, our body releases some chemicals that help to control stress.
4. Cleanse, Scrub and Moisturize
A major cause of an acne breakout could be accumulation of dirt and oil in the skin pores, combined with the dead skin. In order to avoid that, cleaning the skin properly, on a daily basis, and scrubbing it once a week, to get rid of the excess dead skin is very necessary.
5. Salicylic Acid
Applying a two percent Salicylic acid solution on the skin, helps in getting rid of the dead skin cells, which might otherwise clog the pores, resulting in an acne breakout. So one of the most effective acne prevention home remedies is to treat the skin with salicylic acid solution, post cleansing.
Eating Right = Stopping Acne
A good acne prevention diet will reduce the quantity of acne that appears on your pores and skin, specifically your face, chest, shoulder as well as back. There are many different methods for putting together an acne prevention diet plan, but the very simple truth is actually:
1. Limit bad fats
2. Reduce sugar and carbohydrates
Fats, oils and grease are some of the things that you will have to reduce in your diet. An acne diet mustn't contain oily, greasy and fatty meals.
It is quite easy to observe which foods can aggravate an acne breakouts problem since oily, greasy and fatty foods are extremely apparent both to the eyes and also the taste buds. Mayonnaise, eggs and some salad dressings are also contained in the foods to avoid in an acne breakouts diet.
Studies have shown that carbohydrates that exhibit a heightened glycemic index (GI) or the more important glycemic load (GL) boost the risk of an individual developing pimples.
These studies have shown a remarkable connect to carbohydrates and sugars that increase of acne breakouts because of the high glycemic load of these meals.

- Good information. I know I have always seen the debate on chocolate. If it does really effect you or not. Didn't know about certain salad dressings though. Good information.
