The online storage service from Google, does rumour or reality?

Wall Street Journal just resurrect an old rumour, Google is preparing a mass storage of data across the Internet. Through this new service, users can store their data on Google servers, and therefore be able to access their music, videos or documents from any computer with an Internet connection.

Rumours about the service storage Google have already almost two years, and there has been speculation that his name could be GDrive or MyStuff. Historically products that Google brings to the public always have used the first employees of the company, making them a working tool and improving them before they are allowed to be used freely. In this case Philipp Lenssen we already had more than a year ago as he had been able to use the customer of Google GDrive, internally called Platypus (Ornitorrinco).

Secure File Transfer

The concept of "online storage" is nothing new. There are already several companies that allow you to save your data over the Internet on their servers and even Microsoft is entering this sector with its Windows Live SkyDrive. But the reality is that Google allows long since, somehow a "mass storage of data across the Internet." After all, the ability of a mailbox GMail is about 5 GB, as well as Google has Picasa service storage and presentation of photos, or Google Video and YouTube videos (and mixtures of naturally arising) .

In this case, the novelty will come from the ability, through the web interface of Google, store and synchronize data online, to share power and work with others on the same data, and also have them available offline. All of them without the typical (so far…) VPN customers. A new step towards the Google Desktop, which allows you to work no matter where or what operating system. Growing threat to Microsoft
