Strange Christmas Tree Decorations

I Love To Decorate My Christmas Tree With Strange Christmas Ornaments

I love all Christmas decorations, well maybe not the old aluminum Christmas trees with the color wheels. But I have a growing collection of really strange Christmas decorations. Now I don't like any thing mean or crude. I like decorations that are unique and just plain old silly fun. Don't get me wrong, I love beautiful traditional Christmas ornaments too.

My first strange decoration was our Santa Banana who was given to me by a coworker over 30 years ago. This Santa is a rubbery plastic decoration. Our dear old Santa is in the Hi Ho Silver position, riding the banana like a horse and holding onto the peel. He is the prize decoration on our tree. I bet my kids will fight over it when I am gone!
(There has already been some discussion between the kids in that direction, but I don't plan on going anywhere for many many years.)

Here is a sample of my collection.

I think of them as fun, but most say they are weird. You can judge for yourself.

(A few are a little overexposed in my photos here. I'm still learning how to shoot close up with a flash.)

Now if you are a cat lover you will realize how sweet this kitty is. If you are not a cat lover, you probably will think this one is strange.

Christmas is such a fun time to decorate.
Your guests will love your unique Christmas tree decorations.

You can vote here to let me know which one is the strangest Christmas Ornament.

Unique and fun, maybe even crazy Christmas tree decorations are the best.

I stick with traditional, classic, Christmas tree decorations. Those crazy things you have are just crazy.

lilymom24 says:

I think we're somewhere in the middle but probably mostly traditional. My favorite ornaments are the ones the kids make.

pheonix76 says:

I love traditional, old-fashioned ornaments. Especially the glass stenciled type. :)

StSnow says:

I typically prefer traditional decorations but my favorite things are the ones with some special significance, like the ones from my childhood.

desa999 says:

We love the traditional, but this is a fun lens, thanks.

lestroischenes says:

I like these funny things, but I'm afraid I'm just going to roll out our stock of decs collected over the years. If I buy more I might go for something more wacky!

paperfacets says:

I have traditional, and my spending days for a new theme may be past me. If I was starting out with a collection I would put myself in the crazy theme column.
Why not, I think everyone is a little more crazy, how a days.

StacyBirch says:

I'll stick with classic, but I wouldn't mind adding something strange.

JoshK47 says:

I'm somewhere in between, but more on the traditional side - I still definitely enjoy the crazy!

Jewelsofawe says:

I am probably traditional more than crazy...

BunnyFabulous says:

Our tree has mostly traditional, but I love the whimsy that a few key crazy decorations bring to a tree.

PTurner56 says:

I like a Theme Tree. Mine is all Rocking Horses, white lights, and red bows. I DO enjoy seeing the different things other people put on their trees.

mredway says:

I like the traditional ornaments but, I like the unique special ones better.

AlleyCatLane says:

I have an eclectic mix of traditional, classy, and beautiful, and fun and funky. Hand blown glass, bejeweled ornaments, handmade ornaments, the kids' creations. etc., - you name it. Makes for an interesting tree.

brilliantfireworks says:

haha this is funny

Tipi says:

I'm more traditional and that includes fun decorations!

fugeecat says:

It kind of depends on my mood whether I want something wacky or traditional. This year its wacky!

JanezKranjski says:

There is no reason why we shouldn't have some fun with crazy xmas decorations.

KimGiancaterino says:

Our tree is decorated with wine-themed ornaments, lit by purple and green lights. For a long time we just left it up year round.

GypsyOwl says:

Just an example: one of our "light strings" looks like it was made from rifle shell casings... so I think we fall into the 'strange' category pretty well.

Salamander Trout Fish With Bobber Hanger Christmas Ornaments - 3 Pack

These little salmon Christmas decorations would be the perfect addition to my tree!

They could hang in a row near the Polar bear Christmas ornament holding the fish or near any of my several cat Christmas ornaments that I have, because cats love fish.

Do you have a fisherman in your family? Or do you have a family member or friend from Alaska?
These fish Christmas ornaments would be great on their Christmas gift and then they can decorate their Christmas tree the following year with these fish ornaments!
