Strange Ways to Decorate Your Cupcakes

Ranked #9,706 in Food & Cooking, #173,827 overall

Thanks for stopping by my Cupcake Club page

Are you tired of the plain old decorations for your cupcakes? Icing and sprinkles get kind of boring after a while. It would be nice to show something new and different when presenting cupcakes to your guests. If the ones consuming the cupcakes are under ten years of age, they may also enjoy something a little different.

This page is going to explore new and inventive ways to decorate your cupcakes. In doing so, I hope to inspire you to try something different, to make you think of ways to decorate you might not have thought about.

Ready? Good. Let's get started.

Ways to Decorate Your Cupcakes

Here are some interesting ideas

1. Use other spreadables on the tops of your cupcakes. There are a number of different flavors of cream cheese. Try whip cream. You might cover them in apple butter or whipped peanut butter. Try a couple and see how you like the taste.

2. Pour Chocolate Magic Shell over the top and stick them in the fridge to harden the chocolate.

3. Herbs can make fore fun color and an interesting flavor.

4. Go get your favorite candy from the candy isle. Break them up and sprinkle them on top.

5. Think about chocolate cupcakes, brown icing and gummy worms on top. If you can push one of the gummy worms into the cupcake, that will make it even more interesting. The boys will love it.

6. Try some fruit. Sliced Bananas, or apples or maybe some raisins or a prune or two. OK, that might bae as bad as sticking a stalk of broccoli on top of your cupcake.

7. Go to the toystore and get an action figure. Sit the figure on top of the cupcake as in defeat.

8. Googly eyes make anything fun. In fact you should go around you office and place googly eyes on your neighbors stapler and mouse and anything else they may look at everyday.

9. Get a Pastry Filler and pump coolwhip or your favorite jelly into the cupcake

10. Make a Traditional cake, then place the cupcakes on top in the icing making towers on your castle cake.

I can honestly say I've never seen a cupcake mask...
We made spider cupcakes recently (there's a photo on the club Facebook page.) My teenage boys had great fun decorating them before they swallowed them whole.
