Strawberry Jam vs Grape Jelly: You Decide!
Ranked #8,742 in Food & Cooking, #157,981 overall
Is it Preference or Popularity?
What is a Sandwich?
From humble beginnings to easy convenience.
The term 'sandwich' is ascribed to Edward Gibbon who wrote about the creation of John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, in his journal. An order of meat tucked between bread so it could be held while the Earl of Sandwich was playing cards caught on in popularity among others of the 18th century aristocracy.
Since then the creation of hundreds of different types of sandwiches has happened; some based on local delicacies while others are internationally known. One of the most popular and well known is the Peanut Butter and Jelly. A sandwich that has filled the lunch boxes of school children for decades and has been a kind of "comfort" food for adults.
Commonly, a PB&J as it's known, consists of two pieces of bread, one slice spread with peanut butter, the other with a fruit preserve. The great debate has always been what type of jam or jelly makes a "true" (or best) PB&J.
Here's where you, dear reader, decide which is better: Strawberry Jam or Grape Jelly?

With Grape Jelly!

I love strawberries, but I hate jam. It has a gross crunchy texture. The grape taste and the jelly texture make for a much better pbj.
_Joan_ says:
I'm biased because I'm allergic to strawberries, so grape jelly gets my vote. But the debate I'm more interested is whole wheat bread vs. white.
With Crusts or Without Crusts?

A PB&J WITH crusts!
ColleenLudgate says:
I love the texture of the crust
blue22d says:
I think the crusts are some of the best parts of a slide of bread.
A PB&J WITHOUT crusts!
Sidther says:
Without! I don't like the texture!
