Stress Management and Stress Relief with your Computer

Stress is one of the most detrimental (and preventable) health factors there is. Stress has accumulative effects to the body and mental health. Todays lifestyles and hectic pace make stress an everyday companion to us all. To not deal with stress is asking for major health issues.

Stressors to our body and mind cause serious physical and mental effects that must be dealt with or they will accumulate damage to one's self. When a stressful situation occurs, hormone levels spike to "fight or flight" levels. The main hormones involved are:

Testosterone, cortisol, norepinephrine, adrenaline.

These hormones drive blood and energy to the extremities for peak performance to out run or to avoid danger or imminent death. A primordial reaction that is intended to save one's life through peak physical performance.

Rarely are these peak physical feats needed in modern society to survive. The effects are the same, blood and normal bodily functions are interrupted to deal with "perceived" imminent threat. Digestion, healing and the immune system are three of the main bodily functions affected by stress. If stress is constant or long term, the body suffers.

The effects of stress throw the body out of balance. Instead of performing the perfect symphony of bodily functions required for good health, everything is thrown off kilter. Just about anything that can go wrong with the body, is adversely affected by stress.

Some of the effects of stress are:

High blood pressure
Heart attack
Stroke
Digestive disorders
Weakened immune system
and many others

Todays stressors do not require the peak physical demands of the past. The body does not know the difference. Financial stress, relationships, job stress, self imposed demands, ones interpretation and reaction to world events or personally observed/experienced events are todays sources of stress.

A healthy mindset is very important for dealing with stress. A positive attitude is much healthier than a negative attitude. A glass half empty or half full is a good example of attitude. Negativity raises stress levels. A positive outlook raises no stress hormones.

Adjust your stress paradigm to the below factors:

1. What is truely important to you?
2. Everything else should not stress you out.
3. If you have no control over a situation (even if it is important to you), do what you can then let it be. Worry accomplishes nothing positive.

Other than having a healthy, positive attitude, there are things you can do to relieve stress:

- Exercise, martial arts, walking, anything physical
- take time for yourself
- relaxation
- yoga and or meditation
- energy arts, Tai Chi, Qigong...
- biofeedback
- distraction - hobbies, anything you enjoy
- help others - stop focusing on self
- hypnosis

The point of this lens is to bring your attention to a computer based stress relief tool / self improvement tool. It is based upon the mind sciences of The Sedona Method / The Release Technique / The Abundance Course.

The hardware consists of a wireless, dry EEG (electroencephalogram - a brainwave meter) and a USB receiver that connects to your computer. The software integrates the brainwave biofeedback from the EEG and provides real-time feedback and graphs of your brainwaves for an exact reading of your stress levels and unconscious remembrances that affect your conscious mind. It is the ultimate stress relief and self improvement tool on the market.

This is a foolproof concept where the software guides you every step of the way and the EEG brainwave meter gives you honest feedback on your progress. It never lies and lets you know exactly where you are and where you need to be for perfect mental health, physical health and stress free living.
