Stress Affects Womens' Lives - How To De-Stress

Nowadays women are expected to keep the house immaculate, get the kids to school on time, come up with the next award winning idea at work, make sure her parents get to all their doctor's appointments, as well as keep herself in tip-top shape. How any women is supposed to do this and more without undo stress is beyond my comprehension.

Recent research is starting to show the serious side effects stress can have on a woman's body. We are worn down and more likely to get sick. If can also exacerbate any existing conditions we may already have.

Existing Health Conditions May Worsen If Stress Is Left Untreated 

Stress, If left untreated, can cause the following conditions to worsen:

* Insomnia
* Eating Disorders
* Depression
* Irritability
* Headaches
* Fatigue
* Difficulty Concentrating
* Shortness of Breath
* Anxiety
* High Blood Pressure
* Loss of Libido
* Infertility

The list goes on and on.....

Don't Let Stress Make You Sick 

Try some of these suggestions to help you handle your stress:

* Learn to relax
* Be sure to make time for yourself
* A proper diet can make the world of difference
* Get together with friends and chat away
* Learn to compromise
* It sometimes helps to write down your thoughts
* Make time to help others in need
* Have fun with a new hobby
* Set limits and know what they are before beginning any project
* Plan your time and stick to it
* Be sure and seek professional help if you feel you need it.

Deep Breathing Is A Good Way To Relax 

Deep breathing exercises are easy to do and really work. Try the following exercise the next time you begin to feel stressed:

1. Lie down or sit in a comfortable chair.
2. Lightly rest your hands on top of your stomach.
3. Think of a beautiful sandy beach at sunset.
4. Slowly count to 5 and inhale through your nose...hold.
5. While counting to 5 slowly exhale through your mouth.
6. For best results, repeat this process 5-10 times.
