True - the program works as far as reducing fat loss goes, but just as importantly you'll be healthy (and happy) too. This isn't one of those diets where you lose the weight but feel and look exhausted all the time because your body isn't getting enough food or the right nutrients. You'll look and feel great. - "What if we told you that you could burn more calories and have a better metabolism simply by eating more often? How do 5 meals a day sound?
Well, this is the truth. If you eat smaller meals and eat the right foods, you can actually eat more and lose more weight!"
True - eating smaller meals less often does boost the metabolic rate, making fat loss faster. This is important - many diets boast about how much 'weight' you can lose, but in practice most of it is water loss or the loss of lean muscle tissue (which you absolutely don't want to lose!). With Strip That Fat, you're eating enough, so your body doesn't have to cannibalise its own muscles - but you're not overeating, so it can stop laying down fat, and start burning up the excess that you have. The Diet Generator is a great tool, and makes doing the Strip That Fat plan very easy (though it's easy anyway). It's true that you don't have to eat anything you don't like - there's a large variety of meals to choose from in the Generator, although I guess it's possible that that may be people who don't like any of the suggested foods - but even they could come up with alternatives of their own. The 40,000 combinations is true if you're a meat eater - if you're a vegetarian (like me), and you want to use the Diet Generator, there is a bit less to choose from, but even so, there are many vegetarian options suggested, so it's still in no way restrictive. However, if you're a vegan, you'll find the choices in the Generator pretty limited, so you'll need to get creative with non-dairy substitutes! - "Two weeks from now you can lose inches around your waist, look and feel better and drop up to 10lbs in overall weight. You will regain some of that glow and feel much more confident just after a couple short weeks."
Yes, you can lose quite a lot in the first couple of weeks. Like most diets, when people change their eating habits, weight loss is more rapid at first. Some of the weight you lose to begin with will be water weight, so most people won't sustain this rate of weight loss (and it wouldn't be healthy to do so). But getting those initial results is very encouraging, and will motivate you to stick with it. - "You actually get to eat more and lose more with Strip that Fat!"
This is true - Strip That Fat is a generous plan compared to most 'diets'. You don't have to eliminate any major food groups, you don't have to skip meals or eat nasty 'meal replacements', you don't need to restrict yourself to miniscule portion sizes - you eat real, tasty foods, in the quantities that your body needs to function properly. And because you're giving it what it needs (but not an excessive amount), you'll lose weight. - "You need to exercise, but most of you do enough exercise already to be losing weight, you just have not been told about the proper techniques (which we release in full details within this system)."
Yes - exercise is part of the Strip That Fat plan, but you don't need to spend hours exercising every day, or go to the gym if you don't want to. The book has a nice section on exercise with lots of ideas for making exercise a natural, fun part of your life. Most people will lose weight just by following the dietary suggestions alone, but for optimal health and fat loss, some exercise is best. For anyone who, like me, has a tendency to just fall into the habit of eating the same few foods all the time, the generator is very useful, as it gives you a meal plan that is varied and interesting - and then gives you a shopping list based on your choices that you can print out and take to the supermarket. It doesn't get much easier than that!
- The bonuses and updates - extra bonuses are available, depending on which version of Strip That Fat you buy (there's a 'Gold' and a 'Platinum' version - I got the Platinum since it's only a few dollars extra), and includes a recipe book and some other nice bonuses (details here). Plus once you've bought the program, you'll always have access to the site, and will automatically get future updates to the plan for free - so you'll never have to pay another penny, unlike many diet membership sites where you can pay hundreds or thousands of dollars just to stay in the program!

What I Didn't Like So Much About Strip That Fat
Things that might put some people off
- The meal options for non meat-eaters - I think it would be great if there is a separate Diet Generator option just for vegetarian meals. As it is, there's just the one plan, with a mixture of meat and non-meat-based dishes, so vegetarians don't have as much to choose from as the omnivores. In practice it's not really a problem because there is a large range of vegetarian options (and you can always get creative and make veggie substitutes for the meats anyway). I'm a vegetarian, I use the Generator very happily, and have no problem recommending Strip That Fat to other veggies. But it would have been nice if the authors had realised that there's a lot of us out there, and made that extra choice available in the Diet Generator. Fingers crossed it'll happen in a future update!
- The Diet Generator is not really suitable for vegans - by the same token as above, vegans will find that the Diet Generator doesn't offer much choice at all, as most of the vegetarian options include dairy or eggs (though you could use vegan substitutes of course). But most of the info in the program itself is applicable to anyone who wants to lose weight (regardless of what they eat), so I don't want to put vegans off buying it altogether. Just don't be surprised to find that it's not geared towards a vegan perspective.
- The price surprised me a little at first - it's not a huge amount, but it's more than what you'd pay for a paperback diet book from the bookstore. But now I've bought it, I do think the program is worth every penny, especially when you consider that you get instant access, there are various bonuses, and you now have lifetime access to updates. It's also extremely cheap compared to other popular diets where you have to pay monthly membership fees, buy an endless supply of special ready meals and meal replacements, or fork out for pricey (and often useless) diet pills. With Strip That Fat, all you need to buy is your normal food. And you'll almost certainly never buy another diet book again - why would you, since this works long term!
- The sales page typos - I don't know how many people will even notice these, but there are some typos on the sales page which I personally found a bit off-putting. Maybe because I used to work as a professional editor and these things always leap off the page at me, so I'm probably a bit more nitpicky than average! But if you're a fellow pedant, please don't let these put you off buying the book. It is very readable and well-presented (again, barring the odd typo), the information is extremely solid, and the plan works. It would be a shame to miss out on this because you can't see past the occasional misplaced apostrophe.

Don't Buy Strip That Fat If:
- You're not interested in eating healthily and would rather just live on junk food
- You want a 'quick fix' and don't really care about keeping the weight off long term
- You'd rather use diet pills or take meal replacement drinks than spend a tiny bit of time preparing healthy meals
- You're looking for the latest new diet gimmick (Strip That Fat is based on old, time-tested principles)
- You'd prefer a plan that provides you with frozen ready meals so you don't have to do any food prep yourself (though it takes minimal effort and skill to prepare the meals suggested, which is just as well because no-one hates cooking and being in the kitchen more than me!)
- You really need the support aspect of a paid membership club (and there's nothing wrong with that! But you can find plenty of free diet support sites on the web that you could use alongside Strip That Fat - there's no need to pay for support from a membership site unless you really want to)
- You're not willing to persevere through the initial period of discomfort that may come with changing your eating habits. Eating this way becomes very enjoyable, but if you're used to eating tons of junk food, it probably will feel a bit odd for the first week or so, and even though you're unlikely to be physically hungry, you may need some willpower to stick with it at first. But if you get through that, you'll soon start craving the healthier foods, and then it's plain sailing all the way!
