This is my lens, dedicated to all stressed out teachers everywhere. If student behavior is driving you insane, or if you feel like you're the only teacher in the world, then this is the place to be!
On this lens I'm going to add as much advice as I can find, from all corners of the web. This is going to be your one-stop-shop on how to improve student behavior in your classroom today!
So when you've had a bad day. When you want to pull out all your hair. When you're sick of other teachers telling you how great they are. When you've got nowhere else to turn...
This is the place to come!
How Do I Start Improving Student Behavior?
Well, I've added a few modules to my lens now, so get voting on which student names you detest and take a look at some of the links I've gathered for you!
The most difficult part of improving student behavior in your classroom is knowing where to start. But you've come to the right place!
The very first step is to admit to yourself that your students need to improve. That much is vital. And just by being here, I can tell that you've already got that far so congratulations!
Second of all, you need to get yourself organized. Now, I've always been that irritating super-organized type. I drive my friends and family mad by always having a 'to-do' list. I can't live without it (and truth be told, I'm a bit of a control freak).
One thing I've discovered as a teacher though is that it's almost impossible to do everything yourself. There aren't enough hours in the day. Even in the holidays!
So don't be afraid to use teaching resources sites. Many sites have free teaching resources for you to download. Many more have hundreds of fantastic worksheets, flashcards, display materials and more for a fraction of the price you'd pay in the shops.
But what does this have to do with improving student behavior? Well, the less time you have to spend preparing resources, the more time you'll have to concentrate on your classroom management strategies.
The more organized you are, the better you'll be at classroom discipline.
I've put some links to teaching resource shops and sites on my delicious page, but if you want a great place to start try parasitesparadise.com which is an amazing portal to tonnes of teaching resources shops all over the web.
So check it out now and grab yourself some bargains!
