For College students

As soon as students are expected to organize their own homework, you will need a planner or agenda book to keep track of things. This generally starts in Middle School - and as students get more and more responsibility - really never stops. After all, most professionals need an planner as well.

In college though - you really can't do without. Planning group work, finishing essays, handing in papers - teachers are no longer holding your hand.

To keep organized it's practical if your agenda book already has all the dates printed out. The best planners don't skip any dates and last a whole year. Where for school kids an undated planner will often suffice, in college this really will no longer do.

Brown Dots colorful Time.mine 2010 Student Planner

Brown Dots Time.mine 2010 Student Planner - Our Price $13.99

This student planner includes monthly and weekly calendars for September 2009 through December 2010. Also includes space for recording class schedules, record of grades, addresses, and notes.

Colorful down to earth design that stresses punctuality and practical mindedness. The pokadot like look is fresh without being tacky.

2009-2010 16 month Celtic Engagement Calendar

Dark green celtic planner that covers 16 months: starting September 2009 and going all the way through 2010.

The setup of this planner is just what I always recommend people use: Two pages for the whole week and horizontal rectangles per day. This gives you enough room to write down appointments and notes. Includes space for notes and addresses. Binding lies flat for ease of use. Elastic band place holder keeps you current. Calendar measures 5'' x 7'' and fits easily in most bags and backpacks.

Buying a planner at the end of 2010

If you don't have a planner yet, make sure you buy either an 16 month planner that will last you through the whole of 2010, or an undated planner, or a planner at a discount.

To buy a planner at full price now that starts in August 2009 and last only till August 2010 is a waste of money, unless there IS a discount.

Middle and High School - Notebook Student Planner

Undated - fits a three ring binder

If you want to be in total control of your planner, this is the one for you. It fits your three ring binder and is undated, so there will be no empty pages and you can start using it at any point in the year.

This also means this is a relatively cheap way to get organized. No wasted paper and you're not paying for a cover or any of the extras that come with other date books.

On the other hand, you WILL have to keep track of dates yourself. If you buy this one, you may want to print out a free year calendar or something and punch holes in it to keep track of holidays and things like that.

Notebook Reference Student Planner: Second Edition

Amazon Price: $3.95 (as of 11/11/2009)Buy Now

This planner is meant for middle or high school level kids. With only 144 pages there's just not enough here for planning day to day activities - only the school days will fit.

Think of this as your kids first planner.

I use my planner religiously, these are definitely some great finds! The sooner you start using a planner, the more organized things become, and the more things get done. I definitely recommend one!

Im partial to the Levenger Daily Planner, Ive been using it for a while now, and although its a little more expensive up front, its reusable and very high quality, Im sure it will last for a VERY long time. Ive done a few reviews of them on my site, and its one of the few items Ive reviewed that I truly use and rely on every day.

The New York Public Library Student Planner August 2009-August 2010

Dated softcover academic planner

This softcover planner is printed on recycled paper (50%)

My favorite planner on this page. For the college student who doesn't need to be reminded how college works. Simply contains room for schedule, notes, addresses and contact information etc. The comical and inspiring quotes will make you smile.

Extra information includes: weights and measures with metric conversion tables, US and Canadian holidays, and toll-free numbers and websites for travel and lodging. What else does a student need?

Girly College Planner - Cute and practical

Dated Hardcover Engagement Calendar

For the student who wants to just have her planner fit her style - and yet be organized. 13 month pocket planner runs August 2009-August 2010. This calendar has an adult style that fits any purse, I should think.

This compact planner is cute and colorful without being too girly. The horizontal format is so functional I wish it was standard: you get to write horizontally because the dates aren't boxes.

Includes all the information high school seniors and college students need: SAT vocabulary, and a handy academic reference section. The cover can stand heavy use, which is a must in a college life style.
