Style For Miles - Get 24 Inch Rims For Your Car

Ranked #19,060 in Cars, #931,410 overall

Everyone knows that 24 in rims are big, and it's as it should be - as they were designed to be put on some pretty big automobiles. But, because it's just human nature for people to want to "out-do" each other, a lot of folks put them on their average sized vehicles in an effort to stand out as outrageously as possible. Moreover, they do this even though most of the time they know it might not be a good idea. But is there a way to put these giants on the smaller cars, so you can drive them on the road? And, if so, what kind of cars could you "jazz up" to make your "statement"?

Well, first off, the reason you can't just slap big rims on your tiny car is because of the differences in design and size - and many a regretful car owner could tell you stories of how his steering wheel locked up when he tried to make a left hand turn, and caused an accident. But don't despair - you can have modified tires made that will enable your vehicle to accommodate those big rims, and this will take care of the driving problem!

Check It Out

With that out of the way, here are a few cars to consider for your "big rim-worthy" automobile list. (And please remember that your idea of "worthy" may not be the same as that of the person sitting next to you.)

A Station Wagon - Why not take the wholesome memory of the family car icon of the Fifties' and Sixties' to a whole new level for modern times? Get some custom tires made for your station wagon and create a sky-high, high-rise by adding huge rims - take the "boring" out of the family vehicle equation. Then go on a multiple family camping trip and shock your more reserved companions as you come bouncing down the dirt road - now appearing to be on equal terrain with the "baddest" of sporty SUV's, thanks to the giant rims. You can rest assured that the 1960's and 1970's writers of the family-oriented comedy shows NEVER thought of putting their characters in a family wagon like this.

The AMC Gremlin - This poor little car needs to get the last laugh for once - if only to make up for all the taunts it's taken over the years. What better way for you to help it thumb its nose from a loftier position then by adding big wheels? Then plan to take off down the street with your stereo blasting and laugh at all those other boring-looking car owners, who've always held themselves above your humble little car in the automobile pecking order.

The Chevrolet Chevelle - You probably won't find many people who will argue that if any car was ever made for 24 inch rims, it's the old Chevelle of decades past. In fact, it's almost a rite of passage for a person to witness this beauty take off in a flash of light at least once during his lifetime. Who can ever forget the sound of a huge motor roaring as this muscle car blasts down a road - it's huge rims spinning so fast it makes one dizzy to watch it?

A Hearse - Yes, this is one of the more bizarre big rim ideas - but maybe an idea whose time has come. Consider this - if the funeral you are planning is for a loved one who loved to "live" outrageously, why not deck out the hearse transporting him with extra big rims and special tires - and make his final send off a real blast that won't soon be forgotten. You may start a trend with people, and in this way, bring a glimmer of light to an otherwise very sad occasion.

So now you know that you CAN put big, sparkly 24 black rims on any car you'd like - you just have to modify the tires, and add the chrome wheels, doing so safely. You want people to sit up and take notice of you and your car - not read about the traffic pile up you caused when your car became inoperable because of a lack of knowledge on your part.
