Subaru Impreza - Utilitarian Sports Car for the Masses
While the Subaru Impreza base model may be a tame car for sports car enthusiasts, the upgraded sports models provide some of the best performance for the buck of any sports cars made today.
The Subaru Impreza WRX was the first performance Impreza model to hit the market. It is similar to the base model, but with a turbocharged engine, which makes a big difference in performance.
For some, the performance on the Impreza WRX is just not enough. They need to have 300 horsepower stuffed under the hood of their little compact car. For them, only the Subaru Impreza WRX STi will do. The STi was introduced in 1992, but it wasn't until the upgrade to the GD chassis in 2002 that it really became the pocket muscle car that it is today. The latest version, introduced for 2008, is sold with a hatchback body, which has bothered some STi fans, but it still offers unbelievable performance for a car that costs about $35,000 brand new.

- The Acura CL had the unenviable task of replacing the popular Acura Legend. The CL was first sold in 1996. - Dodge Charger - The Big American Muscle Car
- The Dodge Charger is the epitome of the American muscle car. It's big, it's loud, it's fast. The original Charger was sold from 1966 until 1978. It was revived as a front wheel drive compact car in the 1980's, and then again as a return to its roots in 2006. Let's just forget that the 80's L-body Ch

If someone tossed you the keys to a spanking-new 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI for the weekend, you'd make a beeline for the nearest winding road leading into the mountains. So would we. But would you also bring along your wife, two kids and mother-in-law, all prone to carsickness? Not if you could avoid it. But we couldn't. Such is married life. Besides, Mom was the one with keys to the cabin.
