*NEW STUFF*
Search Engines
- Google - add your url to Google
- After reading that it is better to not submit your links to google, I just let google find my page on its own. I don't think it is necessary to submit to google.
- Yahoo! - submit website
- Yahoo! provides a lot of hits to some of my lenses, but not all. One of my lenses that Google doesn't like does nicely thanks to hits from being on the first page of Yahoo! search results.
- Microsoft Live Search URL Submission
- Submit your site to Microsoft's live search.
- Scrub The Web - Add URL
- Add Your URL To Scrub The Web. Requires e-mail confirmation.
- Walhello Search Engine - Submit URL
- Under their "Priority Submission" there is a place you can submit your url to them for free, but they won't guarantee it will be listed.
- SearchIt - add your site.
- Submit your url to Search It.
- Gigablast
- Add your URL to GigaBlast. This one is annoying because you have to enter a CAPTCHA then often get this message "Error. 3 urls have already been submitted by this IP address for the last 24 hours." So I guess they only let 3 URLS from Squidoo be added a day. Good luck!
Squidoo-related Directories
- Lensroll.com
- This is like DIGG For Squidoo lenses. You submit a lens, tag it with categories, and hope that people vote for it so it makes it on the front page.
- The Isle of Squid
- Directory for Squidoo lenses only with tons of categories.
- Squoogle Article Link Directory
- Squoogle accepts quality content from Squidoo but also other sites like HubPages, Gather, Associated Content, and LaunchTags.
- Squidoo Directory - SquidUtils
- Get listed in this directory automatically by logging in to SquidUtils, but you must have "sensible primary tags" for your lenses.
Directories
- DMOZ, The Open Directory Project
- Submit your site to DMOZ, the open directory. This will help with your search engine rankings if you are lucky enough to get listed here. This page explains how you can add your site.
- Sootle Link Directory
- Add your site to Sootle, a human edited directory. Requires that you link to them if you submit for free.
- Librarians' Internet Index
- Suggest site to the Librarians' Internet Index.
- SurfGopher
- SurfGopher appears to be a Searchable directory. Requires that you link to them in order to get your site listed.
- squidlink.com
- Found out about this directory from LMP on SquidU. It's not a Squidoo directory but accepts some Squidoo lenses. In the forum post, it is mentioned that this directory may not be free for long, and to read the terms before giving them your e-mail address.

Squidoo Groups
You can join groups that others have created or create your own at Squidoo Groups. Check the PageRank of a group (or any webpage) here. PageRank is on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. Basically, Google will like you more if you are linked to from pages with higher PageRank.
You can read a simple explanation of PageRank here if you are new to the term.
It's best for your lens to be linked to from the main page of a group which will probably have a higher PageRank than the link to all lenses in the group.
If you have a MonkeyBrain lens be sure to add it to my new MonkeyBrain group! It's new so it doesn't have PageRank yet, but lots of great lenses are joining. I'll put you on the main page if I accept your lens (I'll likely accept it if it isn't spam.)
