Submit Blogs: What You Need To Know

As many net savvy citizens know already, gaining the right amount and type of exposure for a blog is essential in building a solid readership base that will guarantee revenues. There are numerous ways by which you can achieve this of course, such as the typical SEO practices of adding keyword appropriate titles, URL structuring, and link building. This last one is particularly beneficial, and it requires you to submit blogs in blog directories. As more and more people are realizing, you can get better Google listings when you submit blogs to blog directories.

There was a time when all you needed to do to submit blogs was to provide a URL and an email address, and that was it. Unfortunately, the increase in spammers has resulted in a number of problems arising, many of which have to do with blogs having to deal with a disproportionately large number of spam submissions in comparison to actual legitimate entries. In most cases, spam posts aren't even given a chance to appear. Below are a few rules by which you can submit blogs and make the cut.

Blog Submitting Rules

Below are a few rules by which you can submit blogs and make the cut.
  • Avoid filling your description or title with too many keywords.
  • Do not submit an RSS feed if the site in question is not an RSS feed directory. This will only result in a waste of time for you and the site owner.
  • Avoid keyword stuffing your domains as well, since many web sites are already on the lookout against such tactics.
  • Try not to use domains that have hyphens. Spammers typically use these, and you just may get lumped in with that unsavory bunch.
  • If you can at all help it, do not use numbers in your domain. This is another one of those tactics that send up a red flag to website owners.
  • Do not use Adsense to make up for lack of quality content. More and more web users are becoming familiar with Adsense, and won't even continue loading a page of it offers little more than just the ad.
  • Focus on writing good quality content. Good content does not rely on nor does it need too many keywords or links.
  • Fill up all the fields that are required. Websites that have a fairly simple URL are usually not added unless they can manage to catch the attention of the site owner, in which case they will be sufficiently motivated to write a title and description for the site, instead of discarding it and working on the other submissions that have managed to fulfill all the requirements to submit blogs.
  • Get your spelling, punctuation, and grammar right. You have a spell checker, grammar features and possibly even a thesaurus in your word processor program%u2026use them! This will greatly increase your chances of getting listed.
