Article submission is another way to drive targeted traffic to your site. You simply write an article on a subject you know about, or hire a service to write the article (usually pretty inexpensive). Be sure to include a link back to your product site within the article. The keywords that you optimize your articles for should not have too many competing pages (You want under 100,000) thus enabling you to get quality position in the search engines. Submit the article to an article site like articles.com, articlecity.com or go.com. As an added bonus you start to gain more respect within your industry. Articles give the writer an aura of expertise around the subject.

One word of advice. Google will lower the rank of your article if it is a duplicate of another article. If you purchase or get free articles from an article author, change the content to avoid the duplication penalty. Some easy ways are to do a new introduction; do a summary at the beginning; use a thesaurus and change some of th the adjectives; put distinct points in the article into bullet points. You might want to use the f.r.e.e. DupeCop to see if your rewrite is changed 30 - 50% from the original. This way the article is seen as your original and you don't get penalized for it.

You also benefit yet again with search engine ranking, as other webmasters with mailing lists publish your article on their site. Creating yet another link back to your site.

Articles are a VERY effective pre-selling technique for your product or service.

I can ask for results accumulated weekly, daily or as they occur. Google scans the net and sends me information related to my subject by the time period I requested. I can read a quick synopsis and either discard the email or click on the enclosed link to read information on this subject.

You can do the same for you another person or anyone else's company, like your competitor. Just enter your company's name into the alert and each time someone mentions your company, yourself or another person, on the net you will get an email concerning the mention.

Why is this a good thing? Because you can then ENGAGE that website with additional information and so manage your company's reputation.

If someone mentions you or your company's name, You can then comment or send an email to the webmaster regarding the page in question. If the mention was a good one ("EDS, Inc is a great company"), then I could thank him or her and make a connection. If it was bad ("EDS, Inc is a rotten company"), then You could ask why or try to change his or her opinion of you - or tell that person to go $@%@ themselves. Either way, you are aware of what is being said about your company, which is VERY important!

I've been doing a lot of reading lately about Private Label Rights (PLR) content. I used to think that it was only for lazy people who didn't want to do their own writing. But as I learn more, I've come up with lots of great ways I can use PLR in my own business.


If you don't know what I'm talking about, PLR is content that you get from the original author along with their permission to use it as your own. So you can get a great report, put your name on it and have your own product to sell or give away!

Requesting Links:
The oldest method of gaining inbound links
is to request them. This requires that you study your market to find out who the players involved in the market are.

Then,you contact each one of the sites and ask them to link to your site. In most cases, the person you contact receives your request, but providing links to other sites is the least of their worries, so you may never hear from them. If you do,it can sometimes be months later. So, you put a lot of time into requesting links from other sites for a relatively small return on your efforts.

I have typed a keyword related to my site into Google and then contacted the site owners whose sites come up in the results to ask for an exchange of links. I have nearly a 100% response rate and usually within two days. The sooner you respond back the more likely they will exchange links with you.

Text links are a very effective form of advertising on a third party site. The text link is integrated into the website's content so that it looks like a link to another part of the same site. When the user clicks on the link, they will be taken to your site, or an advertisement for your site.

To avoid "site death" do not add keywords that don't actually appear on your page: it won't bring the site much popularity and moreover, many search engines will not index the resource, considering it to be a spam site.

1) Spend some time making great content on your site. Visitors will come, stay and explore your site and make purchases if you have interesting and helpful information.

Google Adwords (tm) allows you to bid to have your ad on thousands of websites that are related to the product or service you are selling. Another phrase for Adwords is "pay-per-click" (PPC).

When visitors come to the sites, they can click on your ad which is usually at the top, bottom or right side of the page. When they do they will be taken immediately to your pitch page and can review your products and order from your sales page.

You set a budget in advance for displaying your ads. You can specify the maximum you will spend each day on these ads.
