Subvert and Profit
An easy to follow guide to making money on autopilot. You don't even need a website for this one!
What is Subvert and Profit?
They pay you to vote on their behalf on Digg and StumbleUpon.
You can become a member by signing up here. The first page you see will request your email address. Once you've entered your email address you then go check your email for a message from Subvert and Profit and follow the instructions to sign up.
When you've become a member of Subvert and Profit, they will send you out a list of articles to vote up on Digg or StumbleUpon.
For every list you vote up you get paid $0.75! The reason they can do this is because they presell your vote to an advertiser, at $1.50 per story. They then forward you the links to vote up on Digg or StumbleUpon, and once they've verified your activity you get paid your $0.75.
The verification process takes a little while, but usually within a few hours you can check your account and you will have been paid. The longest I've ever had to wait was 6 hours.
As can be expected they do have a payout threshold before they send you the actual money, however this is set really low at only $10.00.
They used to pay out with PayPal, but changed over to a new sytem and are now paying out with AlertPay, so you will need to set up an AlertPay account if you don't already have one.
Setting up an AlertPay account is simplicity in itself. Simply click here to go to their homepage, click on the green personal account button, choose your country of residence and follow the instructions.
The one thing I like about AlertPay is that they are so much cheaper to use than PayPal.
Signing up with Subvert and Profit
Subvert and Profit will even take you through the process of signing up with StumbleUpon and Digg as part of their sign-up process. If you already have a Digg and StumbleUpon account you just need to provide them your account names.
They will then send you a list of stories to Digg and a list to Stumble in order to verify that these accounts really do belong to you. For these verification votes you will not get paid, this is part of the sign-up process.
Make sure you use sign-in names that are unique and easy to remember. For instance, instead of using something like Steve2353 as a username why not make it something like stevelovesmoney. Easy to remember and probably unique.
Experiment with this until you find your own easy to remember name that is unique.
Another thing, as soon as you have your accounts set up make sure you change the passwords so they are easy to remember - and make them the same for all your subsequent Stumbleupon and Digg accounts.
That's right, sign yourself up for one or two of each. This is where the system really comes into its own. You can maximize your chances of making some extra cash by signing yourself up for a few extra accounts, and by having your friends sign up too.
I bumbled along with only one account for a while until I saw how easy it is to make money with S&P. I now have two more Subvert and Profit accounts.
Each account has its own StumbleUpon and Digg username, and to prevent myself getting confused I use the same password for each. So far this has worked out okay as I haven't gotten confused yet.
It has also enabled me to make more money with S & P , instead of voting only once, I now get to vote (and get paid!) three times. Usually it is not for the same stories - in fact I have never gotten two of the same stories to vote up - so theoretically you only need two or three Subvert and Profit accounts.
All done! Ready to earn some cash?
All the signing up for different accounts has probably kept you busy for an hour or so (it took me roughly 15 minutes to set up each Subvert and Profit account with its own Digg and StumbleUpon) and you're probably tired of working without getting paid yet. Hang in there, it gets easier from now on.
Lastly, and very importantly, make sure you activate each account as it comes into your inbox. Unless these accounts are activated by you, you won't be able to use them and all that hard work was for nothing.
Now, if you haven't signed up yet, what are you waiting for?

Some tips to help you cash in...
Make sure you don't get banned! How do you do this? Simple, by using Digg and StumbleUpon in a normal and random manner as well as using it for the paid stories you get from Subvert and Profit.
Once in a while you might be the first one to Stumble or Digg a story and you might have to write a little something. All I usually do is write something small like "Cool story!", I do vary my comments though, as you don't want to look too predictable - that's a sure sign of someone trying to work the system for personal gain.
As long as I Stumble or Digg normal stories along with my Subvert and Profit stories it looks like I ran across the S & P stories by accident. Just as a normal user would!
If you do get banned do not despair. Just change your account with Digg or StumbleUpon and carry on normally! You don't have to change your Subvert and Profit account to do this. In fact they actually advise you to change your Digg and StumbleUpon account every now and again, and you can do so easily from their interface.
Make sure you get notified every time you receive a list of stories to vote up. The problem is that there are only a limited number of stories to vote and a heck of a lot of voters. So while Subvert and Profit try to give everyone a fair slice of the pie, if you are not quick enough to vote your list of stories they might get voted by someone else.
Once the list has received its allotted number of votes it will expire. So it pays to be quick off the mark!
It looks to me like most stories are sent out at about 02h00 Greenwich Mean Time (at least, most of my stories come in then) so I've made a habit of checking my email when I get up and quickly voting the stories before breakfast. It usually takes me less than three minutes to vote a list.
How much can you make with this?
A real no BS assessment of what Subvert and Profit puts in your pocket.
Seriously though, you can expect to make about $10 to $15 per month. While this is not enough to retire on, with two or three of these accounts running it pays for my internet connection.
There are ways you can increase this. It seems that the better and quicker you are at voting the more stuff you will be sent. I started off with maybe one or two lists per week but that has lately increased to one or two per day. I can't tell if it's because there's more stuff to vote, or if it's just because I vote the stuff up quickly. Of my three accounts one seems to be really slow, while the other two are brisk little earners.
This is now my second month that I've been trying this and my lowest earning account has made only $5.00, while the other two have made respectively $17.00 and $25.00.
At this rate it will probably make me between $200 to $500 this year. Not bad considering that it takes no time whatsoever, and the few minutes it does take gets paid at a rate of about $60.00 per hour!
So, go ahead Give it a Shot!
I have to confess the first few times my account reached the threshold I did grab the cash, but that was more to check if it really does pay out, and also how long it would take the money to hit my account.
Well the cash was in my account within 2 days and I spent it about five minutes later!
Now I'm content to let it grow for the rest of the year and we'll see if there's enough in the bag for a new laptop by December. (That would be great - getting a new laptop basically for free.)
Join me at Subvert and Profit here and see if you can get a new laptop by the end of the year too!
