Introduction

Everywhere you look you see pimped out rides with thumping subwoofers.  Have ever been the least bit enticed into buying a set of speakers, after seeing/hearing of these fine audio systems.  Well if you decide to add some subs to your ride, the here are a few tips to follow.

5 Great Tips

1. Let Price be Your Guide- When purchasing a new subwoofers for your car, it is essential that you set a budgeted limit. It is not wise to "break your bank" for subwoofers and leave the rest of your car stereo system in shambles. Allotting appropriate amounts for each aspect of your system will ensure a better performing system with quality output. There are plenty of discount subwoofers out there that will fulfill your needs, so stick to your budget. On a side note a decent set of subwoofers is going to cost you at least $350, unless you find an amazing bargain. Remember you get what you pay for, when it comes to sound systems and money spent.

2. Measure, Measure, and Measure- Subwoofers come in various sizes and can account for a large amount of space in your ride. Take the time to decide which type of subs would fit the best in your ride. Custom boxes can be designed to fit in different areas including under your seat and in your trunk. Trunks are the most prominent place for subwoofer storage, since they offer a reasonable amount of extra space. Make certain that you measure the size of the subwoofer destination and the size of the subwoofers to verify that the subwoofers will fit.

3. Know What's Right for You- When purchasing subwoofers a big consideration of the performance needed from the subwoofer is the type of music you listen to. Generally, larger subwoofers tend to put out more bass than smaller subwoofers. If you like music with a lot of thump, then a larger subwoofer is probably your best bet. If you don't listen to music with a lot of bass, then there is no need to waste money on large subwoofers.

4. Structurally Sound- Make sure the subwoofers you are buying are structurally sound. There are two things to stay away from: paper cones and urethane surrounds, because both sound awful and have no durability. Make sure you verify the wattage to know how much power your subs can handle. Decide on a proper enclosure for your subs such as a custom-made or complementing box. Both will protect your speakers and shouldn't muffle the output.

5. Add- Ons- You will definitely need extra power to reach maximum output in your subwoofers. Adding an amplifier will give this extra power, but verify that your subwoofers can handle the amount of power produced by the amp. Check the maximum wattage capacity for your subs and compare it to the wattage produced by the amp. Follow the same budgeting technique for your purchase of an amp. Shop around for discount car amplifiers , because there are many great deals out there.
