Success University World Ventures merger?

Is the merger of Success University and World Ventures a good idea?

The news of a merger or acquisition of the 2 companies is supposed to be officially announced on May 1, 2009. It will go in effect on June 1, 2009. This was recently presented to the existing leadership of Success University and again at the UK SU conference.

I have written a complete review of why I will no longer choose to actively promote Success University online at my website below.

For me, this merger is not a great fit. Here are the reasons why:

1. The $2 free trial will be eliminated. This will hurt those that promote their business on the internet. For me, it will probably eliminate the signups that I produced from the various attraction marketing techniques I prefer to use.

2. The new price on June 1 will double the existing premium price that SU students pay. Again, raising the barrier to entry will be detrimental to those who prefer online methods for their business mode.

3. Although personal development can benefit any industry, having them be a "part" of a travel company will not set them apart as a personal development company any longer. They will be lumped into the ever changing travel industry with other companies like YTB, Coastal Vacations, Traverus and many, many more.

Those are the main reasons for me personally. The upside is that existing SU students will gain a great travel product in World Ventures, as far as I can tell. Although there are some negative reviews about WV, it appears that the product they have is of high value.

Enough about what I think, what do you think. Please put your comments below. Do you think this is a good thing for World Ventures or Success University?

Thanks,

Jeremy Henderson
