Leaders Are Everywhere!
Every organization, country, company, club, sports team and family needs an able leader. Our idea of able leaders is so much more than people who are thoroughly educated and knowledgeable in all aspects of modern management. Able leaders also possess excellent human relations skills; these leaders solve problems by seeing it in their team's point of view rather than by their own. Their leadership is proactive in that they see the broader picture but never taking for granted every minute detail.
For very obvious reasons, leaders are needed to quash the insatiable want of everyone to become leader known as anarchy. We all want to have our say to make our ideas, and ultimately, ourselves, become known and in many instances violence break out as a result of uncontrolled manner of trying to get people's message across without regard for any right alternative, say for example electing a spokesperson to consolidate scattered ideas.
But, as far as leadership goes, are countries, companies, teams and families any different from an individual person, apart from the numbers, of course?

While it is true that leaders are needed for any organization including families, we neglect the fact that we ourselves as individuals are no less than leaders in our own rights. While we are quick to point our fingers to our leaders and other people for our failures, we forget the fact that "...whether I fail or succeed shall be no man's doing but my own..." We are, in fact, leaders of our own lives, our own destiny, our own desires. We have been leaders as far back as during our childhood days. Many of us were fortunately told since then that we must work our way towards achieving our goals. Thus, many have went on to become a success in their chosen field.
Why do most of us forget all about our ability to lead? The reason could be one or all of these:
* lack of reflection
* lack of self-motivation
* lack of discipline
* lack of recognition from other people
* lack of self-confidence
Although it is true that no one has been born with a natural flare for leadership and that the responsibility to cut ourselves out to become what we want, in this case, a leader, over time we have developed skills for leadership gleaned from school, our parents, church and playmates.
So, please do remember, you have the potential to become a leader. You just don't know it yet.
