Advice for Effective Spells
The first thing you need to do is make sure you have the appropriate spell supplies. These need not be elaborate, in a pinch a white candle and some kitchen spices can be enough if you really put your energy into the work.
Choose a candle color/form appropriate to your work. In general, red is for love, green is for money, black is for curses (and sometimes removing curses), blue is for peace and healing.
Choose appropriate herbs/oils/incense for your work.
Start your work during a time you are unlikely to be disturbed. Turn off the phone, television, computer, etc.
Get into the right frame of mind. Sit quietly and really concentrate on the results you want from this spell, SEE it as though it's already happened.
If music helps you get into the right state of mind, listen to it. Do what you need to do to get the right kind of energy building. Do whatever it takes to get yourself into the mood that corresponds with the type of spell. If you're doing a love spell on a specific person, feel what it would feel like to have that person madly in love with you. If you're doing a money spell, feel what it would be like to have more than enough money for all your wants and needs.
Basically, you want to feel the result, not the problem. Don't let worries about how (or if) the spell will manifest, or any difficulties, enter your mind, only the desired result.
As you're setting up your work area, take time to dress the candles, hold the herbs/oils in your hands to feel their energies and transfer your energy to them.
If you're drawing something to you, work while the moon is growing (waxing), dressing the candle up and toward you. If you're trying to be rid of something, work while the moon is getting smaller (waning), dressing the candle in a downward direction and away from you.
By now, you should be feeling a lot of energy. Be sure not to wander off, but direct that energy full force into the spell.
This can be cast at one time, or a little each day until done. Decide ahead if you'll be able to put aside the time and build the energy each day to do the work.
When done, dispose of the leftover wax, herbs, etc. properly. This could involve throwing them into moving water, putting them in your underwear drawer or burying them on someone's property. This depends on the type of spell.
When done, you need to know it will work and not think of it again. The more you wait, wonder and worry, the more energy you take away from your work.
